What got me was the anti-air DA (at 6:44). What did Eita do to get the DA without jumping? I can buffer a DA from a s. LK or c. LK, but I didn’t see Eita do either (maybe an instant cancel from teleport, but Eita was crouching!); as an anti-air, how does one get consistent results?
It was a teleport into U2. You can tell by the flames.

Me Vs my little brother in the grand finals of a local tournament
hes the 4 time defending champion (before this tournament) defeating Toronto’s best to retain all those titles.
JS master, Buddahforce, Davero & Robello
The video starts off after he comes back from losers and beats me 3-2, 3 straight. Were both sent in to Losers and ya…

The tv was a bit laggy, we both confirmed it to one another thats why a lot of links were missed but some were baited because before the recording started, he had the mash power going hard lol.
So close. It’s weird about that monitor, that model doesn’t usually lag.
Ya we heard the same, maybe me & Mosh are used to a laggy ones? Not too sure, we play on those old non Fat Sony TVs from the 90s, but it was whatever, we kept it quiet between us.
It does make it very difficult for akuma to win when he has no combos, I pretty much had to out footsie a ken & live off tricks cause whenever I attempted a combo it was a big flop.
To those people it was a grand finals, but to us, another regular day just playing one another cause we have played/seen one another play too many times for any surprises lol. But that was some of our worst game play against one another.
For whatever reason I find that crt’s have a distinctly different feel to timing things on SSF4. So much so that I can’t even play on them. You two should do yourselves a favor and get a lagless LCD.
They probably set it up wrong. Every monitor can lag if you don’t set up your system to transmit in the native resolution or sometime along those lines.
SSF4 always changes res from the monitors native (usually 1080p) to 720p the max res SSF4 runs at.
Ya thats something we’ve been trying to get, but first thing is an x box converter, then an x box then we’ll worry about TVs lol.
It was actually, very very weird to us. I mean those old TVs we use have 0 lag cause they aren’t even emulating any hd so why should it lag, right?
We moved our characters and everything was ok we didn’t feel them lagging, but we couldn’t land combos properly just some bread and butter.
I told the tournament organizer about the laggy TVs and so did Mosh but he said these TVs were the recommended for tournaments and were called ‘lagless’ but I decided not to drag on about the issue and assumed maybe the tournament setting was just mind fucking us both lol, thats my conclusion.
Unless you use an Xbox.
This is why I love Akuma so much, it is one of the few characters in the game that isn’t boring to watch.
Finished 5th btw bot 6th woohoo
Xbox does upscale the image to 1080p. Does that add any lag?
Not as far as I know, though it may depend on the TV it’s hooked up to… The newer models (I’d say over the last 2-3 years) should not induce any lag. Also, I don’t think the Xbox is the one doing the upscaling on games, I think it only does that for DVD movies which it upscales from 480P to 720P. The TV is the one converting the 720P image in the case of a game.
If you do not properly set up the Xbox it’s brilliant coding can rescale the image up to 3 times which results in a good 2-3 frame lag. PS3 doesn’t suffer from the same issue.
