That’s actually the reason I can’t use any character other than Akuma lol, you don’t get bored trying to find out new setups for him, most other characters are so limited compared to the demon. Even though his wakeup mixups aka “Vortex” is a vital part of his game, I don’t think anyone can be truly successful with Akuma if you’re not solid in every other department (footsies, reactions, frame traps…etc).
Eita was so clutch during the entire tournament…the match vs dhalsim in the grand finals was amazing
On a side note, it looked like he was scared of momochi’s cody…he basically only safejumped every time ge got a kd…and considering how free cody is on wakeup i think he should’ve taken some more risks. Still props to him for winning
All this tournament vs casual talk is actually quite an easy matter to explain. Truth is it depends on the player, some players play better under intense pressure and some don’t but the matter can be more complicated. Sometimes a player may just be having a bad day where a lot of 50/50s go against him or his mind game download / mixup isn’t at it’s usual regardless of how much pressure so really it’s very hard to draw any conclusions.
Bottom line is both can be useful but I think there are more people that play better under a casual setting than when under intense pressure.
He plays at his best in casuals and doesn’t give a fuck about tournaments…or maybe the 1 frame lag between two 20mbit connections 10 km apart from eachother is giving him the advantage.
That could be (though I’m not sure why you would enter a tournament if you didn’t care about it), but he may also be running into better players or bad matchups. He does seem overly aggressive, and I find that doesn’t work out that well in SSF4.
Being overly aggressive can work if you know who you’re playnig against, but in a tournament setting it might not pay off. Also, seth won’t be able to zone shit in AE (not that he’s the best at zoning now, but still) and maybe he’s already starting to adapt his style…but honestly, i played him a few months ago and he was just as aggressive, hehe. wish he still played abel, was definitely easier to win
