justin can’t drive

Sure, if you can hold your own in like A BILLION different games, great. But on a show like this, you just don’t know what game you’ll have to play until it is right in front of you. I addressed this same topic previously in this thread, but I’ll say this. The odds are better when you take part in an alliance. The fewer people looking to put you into elimination, the less risk you stand of having to fight in a game you may or may not be solid in. Also, the fewer times you have to fight elimination, the less risk you stand of some errant fluke costing you everything. If you are not a part of the alliance, take a 1st place finish, and put an alliance member in, then REGARDLESS of the result of that match, you are immediately targeted by the group.
If it were me, I’d join the group. Hell, it’s essentially a straight shot to the gauntlet, and then, my fate will be determined by my own abilities rather than set to suffer from an alliance’s master plan to take me out.
I mean this is a “all around genre” competition. If you’re not confident enough on your own skill, how the hell are you even there in the first place?
not saying joining an alliance is bad. But if you’re not in and you can’t even hold your skill on random selected games if you know what it is or not, not sure how you’d survive from the start.
Damn man, who the fuck wants to grow up in new york? It’s a damn shame when a grown man can’t swim or drive in this day in age.
What was the game they played I missed the ep.
uhmm, who got sent home?
Forza. Justin destroyed the set in the driving challenge, but Vanessa drove way too carefully (and Faye got tag teamed down by the guys), so he still managed to not be last.
Vanessa. Drove waaaay too slow and carefully on both real life and in the game. I mean, she was braking for every little thing.
Vanessa taking a sunday afternoon drive was hilarious. Safety > Money I guess.
People on this show are picked more for their marketability and personality than their particular gaming skills, man. The producers don’t look so much for the best all-around gamers, they look for the “best for TV” gamers.
Keep in mind this is more “Reality TV Show” than “General Gaming Competition”.
So…I guess that leaked info about Justin going home this week was wrong?
yea I know all that. But these people’s ego is so laughable…
Its produced/made by the same people that do Big Brother.
Need I say more?
Good for TV.
Most people on the show have won something in WCG, CGS, Evo or MLG. Be it Fifa, SF4, Gears, CS:S, DOA4, or Madden. Thing is, being good in one game doesn’t mean anything when you’ll only be playing your genre in one episode. Hiring a buncha people who are decent in many genres would be better off skill-wise than what we had those two seasons, but that wouldn’t make a very good promo. “Lots of ok gamers nobody knows! Come watch!”
Wouldn’t make for very funny episodes, either.
If they turned the show around into something grand like Amazing Race, where the attraction is completelly off the contestants, then maybe it could work. In a show like that, where they’re not stuck in a house, it matters very little if the contestants are boring (or unknown). They could’ve even used the original title (WCG GamerQuest).
As is, the show still depends a lot on

The average gamer isn’t the kind of person that can talk in front of a camera. They wouldn’t even consider auditioning for the show (they would say they’re “better than everyone on the show”, though). Justin and AJ are the closest to the average gamer, and they were the most boring people in the house. Imagine a show with 12 Justins and AJs, all with ok skill in everything (because no one that plays many games can be that good in anything). Shit would be unwatchable.
I do think this should could be improved a lot, but not in any way being thrown around.
Says the wrestling fan.
For real…that’s the BEST thing you could come up with? I fail to see any relevance to anything I said.
not everyone grew up next to the beach and went swimming everyday. Infact most people don’t have anything like a beach where they live. People still not knowing how to swim isn’t that big of a shock. Especially when there aren’t pools and lakes near where you live (or in your case an ocean).
Driving, yeah everyone but people who live in NYC know how to drive. But Justins from NYC, so what do you expect?
man that’s a dope set up they got for forza. i want dat shiz for GT5
Damn that sucks.
Four things that I do whenever I want to clear my mind is either driving, swimming, snowboarding, or playing basketball.
Any who back on to the show…
Damn those spoilers were trolling us. That shit is weak son!
I agree. That racing seat is something I really want.
And Vanessa would get it with the quickness.
