Any time between March and June would be best in my opinion. Last year the problem was with people writing exams and spending Valentine’s Day with their girlfriends. We’d like to pick a date where the most people possible can come. For that, we really need the input of people from outside Edmonton.
True, what About march?
Where is SF4
We are hoping to have SF4 at the tournament. There may or may not bea problem with getting enough ps3’s for the tournament. We just don’t know. I’llhave one and so will Dean, but 2 isn’t enough. I’d expect allot of people to join for that game…
I’ve got an actuarial exam in the middle of May, and the two months prior to that I hope/plan to spend studying like crazy. I don’t know if the Canadian SF community has a lot of people writing exams still (Toronto? :P), but it merits mentioning on my part.
So early March or after the middle of May is when I would come out.
I’d agree with early March too. Again make sure the Oilers are in town.
Also I’d suggest a name change, cause it seems to be confusing people into thinking its west coast championship.
I brought a ps3 to last year wcc. so theres 3.
Name wont be change, as soon as people learn to read better they wont get it wrong lol
Awesome man, always a pleasure to have you come out
Is there any particular reason you wouldn’t do it when college summer starts? (like early May, maybe very late April, something like that) Or even later in the summer? Just curious, it seems like a time when a lot of people would be able to make it out…
Ecc seasons beastings T-10 and Evo are all during the summer. We’d have people asking them selves which tournament they should make it out to . ours or some long lasting tournament that will have lots of people entering it. or ours.
We’d have to run it during march… I want to do this when it is convenient for everyone to make it out
Just run it in March, man. It’s probably the best time before finals hit for university students and stuff. Just remember that some ppl can’t make it even though they are out of mid terms and stuff, so don’t try to move dates and times just because 1 or 2 people can’t make it.
of cores not.
Yes I know. I feel like an idiot already.
Do you have an idea what the game lineup is gonna be? Thinking about going to this. If I do, I’d donate my ps3.
thats a good question.
i think the line up of games should be
sf4, STHD, mvc2, T6
i think 3s, cvs are completely done wit.
although 3s team tourny would be pretty wicked
If anything it should be
-SF4
-STHD
-SC4
-MvC2
-T6 (maybe, don’t know how good the Tekken scene is on West Side of Canada)
-Brawl or Melee.
-3S teams
-GGXX AC if it has the numbers?
The tekken scene is growing in edmonton I believe and thats my best game. I’m pretty sure its in the main game lineup.
BC’s Tekken scene is good, though I heard they hardly travel for outside competition. If you have a T6 tournament, it probably would consist of EC and AB.
GGXXAC has numbers and the scene is a solid. They have held some successful tournaments recently (starting back from last year), both in Vancouver and Calgary. I don’t remember the numbers, but I think they’ve definitely had enough to run standard 24 man double elim tournaments. If people plan and coordinate a GG tournament with the respected, local figureheads from the GG community, hosting a successful GG would be possible.
I have a good idea of how I want the tournament game line up to go
SF4
STHD
SC4 (if the game is big enough)
T6 (because the tekken scene has never really went down, just up up up)
Mvc2
3s
ggxx
xvsf
ssbb
Thats what I have in mind. All i need is enough tv’s vs consoles and we are goood to go
I would recommend GGAC as a gesture of goodwill to the cities where GG is big. It’ll probably get bigger numbers than SC4.
out of that list I’d enter sf4, sh:hd sc4, 3s ggac, and maybe xvssf for my boy shiro.
