this night was hell of fun with a good atmosphere and vibe, having all of the out of towners there made for a great tournament, was the highlight of my evolution weekend (even though I didnt even go to evo this year) so all you faggots who talk shit about FFA just shut your mouths because you aint shit. While I was unable to attend this event this year, Iād like to take the time to thank the FFA crew for taking the time and running a national level 3S tournament that could be taken seriously.
If thereās ever a WC of 3S v.2 Iāll try my damned hardest to attend!

The hate is coming from ppl who are FANS of the top players not the players themselves. Like i said we have treated every guest as equals. Never was there a single bit of angst from us towards any out of state/town/country guest during the WC. As far as im concerned if you are cool with us then you are part of ffa. You guys say you dont take Evo seriously and would rather sleep or whatever, but Daigo and everyone else comes all the way from japan each year to play. I think with FFA hosting probably the best palyers in the country, most 3s players want to see all you guys rip shit up at Evo. Although you personally might not take it seriously, its obviously considered the biggest tournament in the states. I guess when people dont live in area where there is a lot of good comp, its puzzling why someone would pass up something like Evo.

Anyway, this looked like an awesome event. Hopefully you guys will keep this up and make it just as large as Evo/Cooperation Cup and the like.

I give mad props to Wong for beating Raoh at Evo. Japanese say his Chun has superior footsies, and that only Ohnuki would have a better command of it. Even if Raoh accidentally taunted which cost him the match, Raoh still had a hell of a lot of trouble. Also, Wong will learn from his losses to Daigo and Pyro and Iām sure heāll be stronger the next time we see him. But goddamnit, DONāT STOMP LIKE MR.WIZARD AT HOMETOWN BUFFET WHEN IāM CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET BY AN INFRARED LINK! My cell phone nearly bounced off the table while I was doing ArlyCam commentary! FF players provided transportation for hella peeps to make it to the tourney or just visit FF. Everyone had a good time. there was no heat between anyone. all 3s players respected each other win or lose. many of us made it a point to show respect and hospitality to out of town players to make them feel at home. there was no hint or hide of attitude. FF respects anyone who keeps the 3s fires burning. last week was the best time i have ever had playing SF period. there are sooo many good players. good vibes all around.
good to meet so many out of town players, you guys are for real. KSK, KO, Mopreme, Mike Lai, Rayblade, Lifetimeboy, KO Feind, CRoyd, Mohamed, and all the TOSF crew. Jamaar and Yoo, from Nebraska, No. Cal peeps, NY peeps, and everyone else that i met. take care, letās make it bigger next year.

PS, in my opinion WC of 3s and Evolution cannot be compared, there was no BETTER THAN they were different tournaments. itās like apples and oranges. if you were not at both STFU. you donāt even know. both had hot comp. and much props to everyone that placed. Also, (just to defend FF) the players that DID enter Evo did not get owned. many FF players placed high. if you think that not placing top eight is getting owned, that shows that you have absolutely no idea of the level of competition out there.

but as far as yang goes, charlie was the only one to really remember. except 2 games including 1 from our evo match, i beat him in casual and tourny, but it really could of went either way everytime, he can parry:(

BTW. The owner of Family Fun Arcade, Ralph, is thinking about renting out a place next time we hold a big tournament like this. If weāre showcasing a limited amount of games, then we can set stuff up so that spectators are easily accommodated.
Anyhow, if anyone ever is in the So.Cal area and wants to get their game on, PLEASE NOTIFY US! PM to one of us, or post in the Family Fun thread in Apex:So.Cal and weāll see what we can do. Weāll also post notifications if Japanese players will be visiting FFA (we hold impromptu tourneys for them) and stuff.
btw, I have a pic of Daigo vs Justin as my wallpaper. Itās beautiful. I only wish I had a pic of last yearās Daigo vs KO moment where both hit each other during their supers.
Also, Evo is Evo is Evo. Thereās no ignoring its importance- Evo isnāt just a tournament, but an experience. Iām DEFINITELY looking forward to Evo 2k5, because it really is the last spark of hope for the fighting game scene here in the USA. Hopefully itāll be on cabinet instead of console, but if it does go to console, then Iād like to help set up some sort of cabinet with clamps to give a solid base for a joystick. And actually test sticks. And stuff.
Finally, I think it might be neat for FFA to hold a regional in the winter or something. Or maybe early Spring. And like, get Japanese players to come here. Just because.
Anyhow, I ramble. But Texas, Jersey, Toronto, NYC, Nebraska (Oh, forgot to mention: Simon got a hell of a lot more solid. Like, whoa.), other parts of Canada(Sauga or whatever it is), you guys are all welcome to FFA. Just be warned though- Itāll mostly be 3rd Strike. =P
