In my opinion, watching match vids or reading forums isnt going to do as much compared to just playing the actual game. Even if it’s againest the CPU or a training dummy, it’s better than nothing. Not that I find nothing wrong with observing the tactics of other people, but just trying to immitate them isnt going to automatically make you into a better player, or so I think. >_>
To each his or her own…thats what works for me/is working for me but that may not work for him…But see Hokage what I am saying is ASSUMING you are playing the game while watching match vids…that to me goes without saying…I would never JUST WATCH and read and not play…I watch, read, play…all at once…if I dont play it then it doesnt become ingrained and you’re right…that does nothing for the player.
And thats also why I said match vids/knowledge is only half the battle…EXPERIENCE is the other half…
Yet another reason why CPS3 emulation needs to get cracked. Unless someone can hook up their console to their PC, or can run Chankast at a respectable framerate.
Although, I’d say vids/threads is more like a quarter of the battle, experience being another two quarters, and the last quarter “luck”. XD
That’s true, but there’s nothing wrong with alittle bit more guidance
Like Chicken Soup for The Teenage Soul right?
Those books were crap though. Just like The Bible. What kind of guidance is this? Is this gonna make me into a better person? Naaaaaaah… goes to hell
I really have no problems with guidance, it’s just people that think they have to copy everything down to the slightest detail to the best that bug me. Ya know how many people I’ve encountered that think that can parry every single hit on Chun-Li’s Super Art? I mean c’mon…we all can’t “unleash the beast”. XD
I get you man…but I really can parry Chuns super…do it frequently…lol…ask anyone I play…lol
And yeah if people start off trying to parry Chuns super they are going about it wrong…mastery means understanding the basics first…most noobs make the mistake of going for the little tricks or whatever is flashy…
Without understanding the basics first…and therefore NEVER get where they are going…bc their map is all drawn out wrong…
You Daigo wannabe. XD smacks you up with some Rising Tackle
I agree on basics though, they are the roots of all evil…erm…greatness I mean. Yeah. 3S has alot to the “basics” though. Capcom should do a “How to Play” sort of thing like SNK does. I always watch those. =3
Hahaha but the thing is I dont play Ken…Im sick of Ken…like fucking all of them are cookie cutter factory produced same shit over and over Kens…and theres like 50 kazillion bazillion of them.
Take that # of Kens, then you’ve got about 3000 Chuns, and how many of the character I use???
About 20…Who is that…see the signature-YUN!!!
What you must understand with your fine ass Chae Lim av (Man you shouldve had the one with her revealing shit!!)
is that Daigo in EVO2k3 Changed the dynamic of 3s tournies…before him it could be said not even remotely close 2 the # of people could parry Sa2. Now it can be said that A HELLUVA LOT MORE PEOPLE PARRY IT…thus making spamming it for tick damage TOTALLY UNSAFE…Some will throw the ex fireball out b4 it, or the REAL PROS wont even bother anymore…they will just HIT CONFIRM THE DAMN THING OFF A KARA THROW MIXUP 2 GIVE YOU FITS!!!
I wish Cammy was in 3S, I would be all over her then. Otherwise, Elena is the next sexiest gal there is wearing as little clothing as possible. I have a bit of a habit of familiarizing myself with the cute/sexy females of the bunch. If Ibuki wore some REAL ninja clothes now…I may use her…and Makoto is way too butch…and Chun-Li needs some bigger legs. And Remy…wait…what do you mean Remy isnt female? Noooooooooo!! I got all these pictures you see…and…
Hahaha Remy is what we like to call EMO…
Hahaha…Yeah Ibuki would be a nice sexy asian girl…
as for Elena…ehhhhh…not the type I go for…
Me its Hispanic and Asian baby!!
If Chun was for real I’d give her some of my “Genei-Juice” and do what Yun says all along “Zap the Condom on!!”
Players would gladly tap Chun’s fine ass but not play it out of fear of looking like a scrub? Gee-whiz…
I actually always thought Chun was hard to play, and I don’t mean in the pimping sort of playing way ethier.
I’ll never get why Ken is so popular, besides being sexually superior to Ryu.
Truth is, you should start playing Urien. Unblockable setups FTW!
Break the habit of your c.short short sweep. Go for better mixups other than a c.short and UOH on wakeup. Learn how to hit confirm your c.shorts into shippu, helps a lot. It pains me to see Ken with full meter and doesn’t do anything with it. Start punishing with c.mk or c.mp xx shippu, instead of those random c.shorts. Also stop standing around and wait for him to throw a fireball at you, parry it the first time and get in there. If Ryu happens to just randomly does Denjin full screen, you could’ve super jumped and do an EX Tatsu to the other side.
The c.mk is hit confirmable by the way. It’s harder than the c.mp, but I don’t think that’s the main reason to stick out a c.mp instead of the mk. Reason is that the c.mp stuffs a lot more moves because it comes out faster than the c.mk, but has less range.
Can’t think up of any good reasons, but Ken is popular because he’s easy and effective to use.
whats UOH?
whats UOH?
Unblockable Overhead Hit?
UOH = Universal Overhead
Yeah laughing at new players coming into a dying scene sure is a smart idea
