I can’t seem to plink wavedash to save my life. I’ve looked up videos on youtube explaining how to do it but I can’t seem to try and repeat how they are done. I can get a few plink dashes out before they throw out an attack but that’s about it. Now I can do the other wavedash by pressing down and two attack buttons good. Just I want to get the hang of wavedashing backwards using the forward and back motion of the stick.
Assuming you’re on stick using standard layout…
L, M, H
S, A1, A2
Bump the assists to the right and you’ll have
L, M, H
S, L+M+H, A1, A2
Plink the H to the L+M+H button, it’s a very natural motion and way easier than canceling H with 2 other separate buttons. You’ll get used to the rhythm of the plink and that A2 assist in a couple of weeks. I’ve been doing this for months and my game has leveled up big-time thanks to plink dashing.
The way I have my stick layout is.
L, M, H, A1
S, L+M, N/A, A2
Well then it’s set up for you, plink the H to the L+M button. You must be a Magneto player to have that L+M button, but it works regardless. If you’re constantly getting an attack, that means you are plinking the buttons to closely to each other, space out the timing. Also, if you play Doom, you won’t be able to plink dash with that L+M button because for Doom you have to plink off the M or L, since Butter Gun is not cancelable.
Edit: You should consider using my layout for the assists, that top right button is the only one you cannot reach without having to slide your hand over, which is a major inconvenience
Just practice plinking. It shouldn’t be too hard. I just plink H~m with Mags. Practice plinks in SSF4 so you could see if you’re doing em right. Helped me quite a bit.
