Maybe command grab.
Don’t think you can command grab it because of the pushabck that super gets, but there’s no pushback if JDed.
You see the problem here, right Shiki?
Anyway, was looking at random matches on YT :
Not the best, not bad though. Concerning the game…I really want to play it now. I actually like the music and the backgrounds are well done and mesh surprisingly well. Rooster is okay, although I regret the omission of K9999 (or he is in this one?).
I also disagree about the art; sure there’s a few shitty ones (like Terry) but he did a great job overall. The menus and stuff, yeah are pretty fugly.
Since I see my name thrown around again I will address this with this video RIGHT HERE:
Hopefully you all remember this video right here I did a LONGGGGGGG time ago:

Once again EMIL stick to what you know- You CAN REGULAR AND COMMAND GRAB Deadly Rave.
Matter of fact even the GB mode Unblockables you can Command and Regular Grab just like Deadly Rave if you know the timing.
I play NeoWave Emil doesn’t, so don’t listen to him LOLOLOL.
When I do a ft5 in NeoWave in Mexico vs. Kane9999, Ismael, Esteban, Alexis or some others in NeoWave for fanfare (something I’m sure people would want to see) as I do in everything else in Mexico, I play very very patient, and I believe Young Geese’s BEST Groove is GB Mode no questions asked, his Deadly Rave is NOT unblockable, compared to the CPUs (in addition to better defense, autoblock on more specials, does wayyy more damage), and various other things I could go on as to why Boss Young Geese is FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR superior to Playable Young Geese no questions asked. In GB Mode Young Geese gains an Unblockable, which makes the combination of a nigh invincible Deadly Rave and an UNBLOCKABLE very very deadly indeed.
Also with JD you can JD and punish, but it has to be fast, so with Clark I could JD an attack, then immediately Command Grab or super but it has to be fast, the timing is strict to do it.
Now the reason I seem more offensive here in the USA is because as I’ve said before, I can get away with it. In Mexico I play very “boring” or patient…and in this game it would be no different, I’d play the clock and force someone else to make mistakes. I adjust to the scenario and opponent I am facing and take what they give me, if they aren’t gonna give me much I’m not gonna give them much either and adjust.
If they give me a mile or inexperience/exposure is something I can see, I will run rampant on them like you see in 97% of the videos that are here in America!
This is a random question, but I heard that the Japanese PS2 version of NeoWave and the North American Xbox version of NeoWave feature different unlockable characters. Which ones do they have, and which is considered the better version?
Angel, May Lee, Omega Rugal correct me if I am wrong, are not in the XBOX version, and believe me it makes a difference at a high level.
Though toned down, Angel and May Lee are still good enough to be top tier, Angel STILL RETAINS her Infinite, so imagine Angel in GB mode with Just Defense, her infinite, and HEAVEN FORBID, AN UNBLOCKABLE (Not the damn ender in her command strings! A GB Mode Unblockable that causes counter wire meaning easy infinite setups), I can see her being top 3/4 in the game in GB mode alone because in the corner she can land an unblockable to INFINITE…
Yes that is gonna be my next goal to Ismael, and this has me thinking we need to do a free NeoWave tournament (At Mexico vs. Panama in August) in Mexico because all this would make for some very exciting matches.
Ismael learn Angel in NeoWave with GB mode!!!
Shiki, DG, no-one is asserting that Boss Young Geese isn’t better than regular Young Geese; that seems redundant to even point that out. Of course he would be better.
My beef is that Deadly Rave is a DM that has loads of invul for a KOF autocombo DM (what I wouldn’t give to have Leona’s rebel Spark or Vanessa’s crazy puncher to have that amount of invul, they barely have any), only costs a damn bar and you have to go through more trouble than you really should to punish it. Considering that you can use it to punish whiffed things and bypass attacks, its a very low-risk, high reward move and that’s the tip of the iceberg. I don’t care if I sound bitchy but that simply doesn’t sit well with me. With properties like that, if I block that shit I should be able to go for a maximum damage combo from a C or D attack or any grab (normal or command) of my choosing, period.
I still would play the fuck out of this game though.
If YG was at least in 2k2UM I would make DR punishable on block to say the least so yeah I completely understand, that was an oversight on their part, they could at least make it like 98UM Regular Geese’s Deadly Rave…
But apparently what they did was the following:
Young Geese gets invincible Deadly Rave
REGULAR Geese gets invincible Raging Storm.
Difference is Raging Storm as actually punishable on block.
I was talking about ON BLOCK, learn how to read. The other counter (with just a normal grab before it connects) is obviously not worth the risk. Command grab before hit is probably more reliable if you used a one frame command grab rather than a delayed command grab, but one frame normal grab is obviously more risky than one frame command grab due to possiblity of being out of range of the normal grab and getting a normal.

Well I didn’t get a chance to really play this game, it came out at a time when 3s was pretty hot on XBL and there wasn’t really any interest coming from the community so essentially there was 0 incentive. On that note, I wouldn’t mind seeing some high level footage and a tier list posted.
Haven’t tried it myself but the offical BC list says it’s compatible.
US/Juarez, Mexico S Class:
Choi, Young Geese, Saisyu, Jhun, Angel, May Lee, Kim
Both versions had Omega Rugal, Seth and Kusanagi
The japanese ps2 version had may lee and angel. I think the XBOX don’t have them, correct me if I’m wrong
I want to buy this one for 360, is listed in the backward compatibility list, but still, I don’t know how this game runs
Did you recommend me to play it in the xbox 360?
I wouldn’t buy it on the 360 since the servers have been shut down for every original Xbox game. And after doing some research, it seems the game has some problems when playing on the 360. Some have complained that no backgrounds show up.
stay away from the xbox version. has a bad bug with heat mode (doesn’t increase damage, only drains health), plus theres no more netplay for it. i’d go for the arcade rom, but the ps2 version is accurate in terms of gameplay.
Just point this out. Neowave has been emulated on Demul (Atomiswave emulator). Google it.
There’s an Atomiswave emulator now?
Get the PS2 version.
Google ‘Demul’. I’m hoping they get KOFXI and NGBC on there soon.
