^ Heh, yeah whatever. I’m going to hate it right from the start. I’ve been mentally practicing how much I’m going to hate SF4 as soon as I get to play it. And let me tell you its going to be ALOT. Get back to me when everybody catches up and I can gloat “I told you so.”
Maybe then we can finally get back to Alpha 3. It is hands down the greatestf ighting game of all time it has the lognest most technical combos and it has the most charactesr i love the storlyine endings amf dhufr blubba glubsnub ihhhh

Deadfrog is my fav. poster.
'Tis epic, this post.
He *was *one of my favorite posters, but then I found out all the really cheap stuff he can do, like quote facts, and use sarcasm.
I mean, seriously - sarcasm?
That’s so unfair!
His opponents don’t even know he has beaten them most of the time, and they keep mashing wildly, spamming threads with failed counters.
Yah, this is how I feel. Although I doubt some 3s characters won’t appear in the near future sequels, whenever that happens.
I was reading this and then I looked at your rep-groove and thought “Shit, I wonder what he can do with that bar???”. I was thinking you could ban someone instantly and forever just by using the bar then it goes back to 0, or maybe use it for cancels or something, like triple posting at people with no penalty.
Hi.
Lolz.
I know, right?
But if deadfrog did it, scrubs would want him banned more than they probably do already.
Fuck e’m.
A-groove deadfrog=win.
EDIT:
Hi. :bgrin:
RE-EDIT:
Having pootnannies on my ignore list only allows me to see the winning side of whatever tiff he’s in.
Aw shucks, you guys are awesome too. High fives for everyone!
You and I are alone here.
Oh fuck I lol’d. Worst part was, I was taking the post seriously up until “amf dhufr blubba glubsnub ihhhh.” It’s the 2009, I tell ya…
SF4 has gotten much more love the 3S it seems.
Someone on some thread had brought up Twelve not relating at all to the esscene of Street Fighter. Well, the same can be said for a quarter of 3’s cast. Necro, Oro, Gill and Urien don’t exactly mold into the classic SF formula are just considered generally weird. To me, the new characters in SF4 are much more SF-minded. Shit, not even a lot of Alpha’s characters lived up to SF standards (aka Birdie horrible design).
Ono stated that Street Fighter had always had more goofy character designs then those like the KOF series. (not comparing because SF owns KOF anyday) and wanted to change that with Viper.
My point being, I think 3rd Strike got all the hate because, even though it was fun, SOME of the characters left a lot to be desired.
but yeah not a fakepost guys daigo is pretty dreamy
I agree that Twelve has nothing to do with the “essence” of SF, but he’s damn fun to use
In defence of this, I’d main Twelve if I played 3s. Or Dudley.
I think if SF3 got the SF4 treatment with a year’s worth of blogs, backstory, video previews, loketests, etc. then the SF3 characters wouldn’t have felt so foreign. But, 97 was a different time, so most of that stuff would have been impossible.
It’s not as if the new SF4 characters have really been any more popular than the SF3 characters…but, time and exposure has allowed us to get used to them. No one even bats an eye at Rufus anymore (though many still don’t like him).
By the way, a site with Japanese DC sales numbers
to compliment the US numbers I posted above. And, nope, I hvae no idea how accurate these numbers…I find it weird that Second Impact sold some 30,000 in it’s first week, then never sold another copy. Ever.
3S is basically on par with other Capcom (non-crossover) 2D fighters of the day, around Alpha 3 and Jo-Jo. The crossovers did better than all of em…but, those are crossovers.
SFIV got shat on because of the fact that it couldn’t please everyone, had impossible expectations, and used 3D models. Since then people have accepted what Street Fighter IV is and have come into terms that 2D graphics aren’t going anyway with Blazeblue, King of Fighters XII, and just now a new Power Instinct being announced after it.
So basically most people have cooled down since the unveiling of it a year ago. I know this sounds upbeat but keep this in mind…most people have yet to play it. Give it a month or 2 weeks after release and watch the sonic firestorm.
rufus looks fucking retarded and should be removed from the game
I must like pain or something. Aegis Reflector.
There are a number of reasons why SF3 fell flat.
I’m not going to touch the whole debate on whether or not the SF3 series is a good game or not. That’s been done to death and I don’t want to do it. The most important thing to note here though is that SF3 played very, very differently from SFII. You could take Ryu and Ken out of NG, call it something not Street Fighter, and that would have been more accurate. So, for all the SFII fans who were looking forward to playing Street Fighter III, it was a big disappointment. Despite the name, it wasn’t really a true sequel to SFII. Regardless of what people think of the 3 cast now, back then the characters were just watered down, inbred distant relatives of the cast we knew and loved from SFII.
With SFII’s success came a horde of other fighting games, Street Fighter clones, from various other companies trying to cash in on the craze. So, the market became innundated with fighters, and people started to get burned out on them. Some people even started to get burned out on SFII. IIRC, one of the factors that contributed to Mortal Kombat’s success, aside from the graphic violence of course, was that as a fighting game it played completely differently from SF. So people appreciated the variety (even though in retrospect we know it sucks now).
Capcom making SF3 so different from SFII may have been them responding to the general clamour for something new and fresh, but in the end, SF3 sort of became another SF clone.
The timing was also bad. 3D fighters were starting to emerge and on the 2D front people were getting into the VS series. Not to mention that arcades were also starting to die out. So, SF3 really had a lot working against it right out of the gate. Even with a marketing and advertising blitz I don’t know if SF3 could have made as big of an impact as SFIV is making now.
hey dont knock the 09’s With SFIV coming soon we are sure to be getting alot of them
and i dont feel its a mistake just out of place
