Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Comedic Guy Pic from the US Street Fighter Alpha 1 Strategy Guide.

Ah yes, the gangstas! Alpha 2 guide is where that scan’s from actually, didn’t see it in Alpha 1. Thanks for keeping on that summary sano. Looking forward to it.

Yeah, I forgot which Guide it was from, took a wrong guess…

Must be a different album because all of the stickers in that one are the official character pics and screenshots. Nothing else, except for this one page where I don’t know where the pics
are from.
It was a SSFII guide from ā€œMerlinā€. I’ll add a larger scan to this URL later:

I just picked up the entire craptacular Street Fighter American TV Show on Ebay for ten bucks. Here’s how one of their only decent episodes, the Final Fight episode went down in case anyone missed it.

Belger was in his office complaining to Rolento how the newly elected Mayor Haggar wouldn’t play ball. Later, Damnd tosses a smoke bomb in the Restaurant Jessica was dining in. Everyone thought it was a fire so they ran up to the roof. Jessica was greeted by Rolento who had El Gado (Called ā€˜El Gatos,’ Spanish for ā€˜the cats’ Well, it should be ā€˜Los Gatos’ for plural, or just ā€˜El Gato’ for singular, blah) grab and toss her in a Helicopter. A Holly Wood swap barred the door leading towards the roof so no one could follow.

Ryu and Ken watched Guy in a Street Fight. Ryu said he learned Bushin in Tibet and added a few moves of his own. Ken added his style looked more like dancing than fighting. Ryu said Guy had such precision he could chop a fly in half in mid flight. After winning the Street Fight Guy recieved a call from Cody saying Jessica was kidnapped. Guy left to help and his friends Ryu and Ken followed.

Belger (Referred to as ā€˜The Big Boss’ in the entire episode, he was never called Belger) contacted Haggar via a Jetson’s style visaphone. Belger wanted to trade Haggar’s daughter for his cooperation.

Cody was at the crime scene about to beat up a clueless cop for info. He was stopped by Ryu, Ken and Guy. Ken mentioned how Cody was hot headed and Cody was angry that Ken tried to pick up his girlfriend Jessica in the past. In a meeting with Haggar, it was decided Ryu and Ken would infiltrate Mad Gear since everyone in Metro City already knew Guy and Cody. Ken said he would take good care of Jessica when he found her to piss Cody off!

In an effort to show us Damnd is nuts, in the Subway Station he ripped out a cable from a fuse box and touched it to his tongue. The removal of the cable stopped a moving train. Damnd and Andore (pronounced An - Door) attempted to rob the passengers on the train. In lame-o undercover 80s punk rocker outfits Ryu and Ken bet them up saying they heard that Mad Gear initiation was beating up a member. Ryu and Ken were taken to Rolento in an underground Mad Gear layer (lots of generic thugs, many Holly Wood swaps, no Poison). Rolento said there final test was to defeat weoponless Sodom which they did. Ryu and Ken then secretly started a fire to signal they had succesfully entered Mad Gear. Cody couldn’t wait and ran after Mad Gear. Haggar told Guy to follow him.

Belger contacted Haggar again and told him they were stealing diamonds and if he knew what was good for Jessica now gagged and tied to a chair he would not interfere. Haggar got so mad he picked up a couch and threw it at the screen.

Ryu and Ken helped Mad Gear with the diamond robbery. Rolento than took them to meet Belger in his building. Jessica still bonded was in the same room. Guy and Cody peeped this from afar via bonoculars and Cody decided to attack now. Guy and Cody fought Rolento outside of Belger’s office with his staff who was so fast he seemed to dissapear when ever they tried to hit him. Rolento started chucking lots of grenades at the duo until Guy threw three Grenades back at him. They blew up a piece of a wall that landed on Rolento taking him out.

Guy and Cody busted in on Belger who started firing missiles from his mechanical chair. Cody kicked his chair that made Belger spin around and a lazer beam on it went crazy about to kill Jessica until Ken got her out of the way of fire saving her life. Ryu and Ken fought against more generic thugs while Cody and Jessica made out. Belger shot a missile at the couple and Guy pushed them out of the way. Belger grabbed Jessica, put her back in front of the chair’s way of fire saying he would kill her if they didn’t leave him alone. Cody than knocked Belger out of an already broken window(crashing through windows in American Cartoons is taboo). Before he fell he fired off one more missile which Guy kicked out of harm’s way. His chair fell on a cop car that may have belonged to a beefed up Cop that may have been Edi.E(it looked like him a little bit and every Final Fight Character was redesigned for this episode, so it’s possible). Belger’s sash cought on to a flagpole so he didn’t die. Haggar came on the scene, Jessica and Cody continued to make out and everyone lived happily ever after, the end.

Just read vasili10’s post about the Airplane Crash - That really rocks! Shadowloo plot to blow up the plane? That’s cool. I was looking for something to explain his Mutation but for now it’s all good. Let’s see what the US Comic does with Blanka.

EDIT: Went back and read 13, DOH! Blanka’s mutation is explained there. Sano’s a nimrod today… Anyway, thanks for answering my three questions!

I think the answers to the Blanka questions are great. Better than a Ninja Turtles Ooze story that I always expected.

Just got the last few Udon comics (always a little behind), are they not by Image comics anymore? I can’t see the logo no more it just says Udon. I think Sakura should have met Ryu a lot earlier because she has a white headband like him in SF1 but he already wears red. Also he should beat Adon before Sagat when he still has the Alpha look. Still great artwork.

If the Ryu/Sagat pic is from a manga (which I don’t think because the face looks just how Akiman draws it and it never looked like that in any manga I ever saw), then I’d love to read the whole manga. I also still wonder where the hell the Indian pic with the girl is from.
By the way the scan is from a copy of the original I once made to hang it up as a poster, it’s not scanned directly from the album, I’ll do that some day but you can see all of it on the current scan already.

Well, his skin anyway is explained. Glad that you’ve liked the HnN answers, everyone. It really makes the translation efforts worthwhile. Keep watching for more, and of course from other sources.

Thanks for the extra large scan, aerialgroove. Aww, I see a heart above her head, and a bandage on his cheek. Hope I see the pic elsewhere sometime.

Small plead to everyone, especially KOF fans. Anyone out there have Gamest World #9 aka Gamest #178? I’ve been trying to get this for awhile now, and today I received word that my order from one store may be cancelled because the store’s not responding to my books agent. This issue has a SFZ2 side story within, and I’ve got a burning hunch it’s about Gouken & Gouki’s battle and you-know-who. But the cover stealer’s Kyo & KOF’96. Please check the cover below and spread the word to anyone who cares. I’ll still be hunting for it, but it’d probably help if someone’s already got it and can share. Thanks minna san.

Yeah, Udon switched from Image to Devil’s Due. WIth Image, you have to put their name on the cover while with Devil’s Due, you can put your own Company - Studio Udon - on the cover. I think that’s a big part of it. I’m not sure Erik Ko can flat out say why the switch due to legalities.

vasili10 - As you know, I don’t have any of the Gamest World Books. I’ll ask people at MMCAFE about it, maybe someone does.

Next week is the big New York Video Game Show. Since it’s the first big video game show in NY, I have no idea what merchandise will be sold but as usual I’ll definitly keep my eye out for that book and other stuff. Kind of doubt I’ll find it but you never know.

Street Fighter Drawings that are in Capcom Illustrations and not in Capcom Design Works and SF Eternal. Majority of this stuff is in Capcom Earlier Days. I did a side by side comparison of Early Days and Illustrations on this Thread some Months back so you can check that post for that comparison.

Final Fight Drawings.

SF2 TV Ad posted here earlier.

Lots of SF2 sketches, Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li have sketches where they are dressed in everyday plain clothes.

I appreciate the efforts; thanks sano. Thanks also for the analysis above. Hope you enjoy the show.

I Posted the Thread over at MMCAFE. It’s probably your best bet with frequenters like Iggy, Dash no Chris, Stick Click and others none to keep stuff like this. Let me know if you want me to change the Thread in any way.

That should be sufficient. Thanks sano!

Capcom Fighting Jam is based on true events. This is the real story of Chun-Li vs. Hauzer and Nool’s lovechild.

I just realized that I was all wrong with the ā€œRyu vs Sagatā€ pic. It’s not Sagat. I saw the hands that looked like those of Sagat and thought it was the first fight of Sagat and Ryu when I bought the mag. Never thought about it but now I don’t think it’s Sagat anymore and so it could be official (since the only reason why it should not be official is that Ryu is in his SFII look).

I thought that was the case, since I thought I only saw bandaged hands. Ah well, let’s see if I’ll find it elsewhere.

Does the average Japanese understand Japanese written in Roman letters?

There is this SSFIIX comic book…

…and I think I saw this pic of Cammy (upper left) before, is it official?
http://img145.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/4/8/4/3/kokuriko_2001-img400x600-1096895786yosizaki05.jpg

It’s probably not official, because the book’s not even commercial, but a doujinshi; in other words it’s a fan-made book.

The pic’s kinda cute though.

Why do you ask about Roman letters? Most Japanese do understand them nowadays.

  1. I know that the book is just a doujinshi but maybe the character pics are official. I probably saw it at Cammyfan.com some time ago.

  2. Well because I know a little Japanese but no symbols and most Japanese don’t speak any English eventhough they learn it at school. I want to buy some books from Japan.

  1. Couldn’t tell you for sure since I don’t have the book, but odds are it probably isn’t. I keep seeing that particular title on and off at Yahoo Auctions Japan.

  2. Most won’t speak as much English as say we do, but they will pick up little things here and there even if they don’t speak English fluently because they hear them quite often, especially younger generations.
