I think Wichita has the potential to have a good scene, the hard part to me is getting more people to come out. Any help is greatly appreciated.
To be frank, I’ve never lived in Wichita. From when I was born up until 1991, I lived in Augusta. I then moved to western Kansas. After which, I moved to Eastern Oklahoma in 2004 and been here ever since.
Speaking of western Kansas; if we manage to get even one person from Dodge City, Garden City, or Liberal to show up, I will probably drop dead in disbelief.
But for as long as I’ve lived, I’ve been inexplicably drawn to Wichita, going there every so often as a child plunking tokens inside arcade machines back at Aladdin’s Castle at Town East. That is, when it was still opened.
I miss that place.

I have a question for you guys hosting the event. I am an Xbox 360 player, but you say the tournament is on PS3 only. I’ve recently acquired one, and SF4, but I find that the controller is the biggest piece of crap in history.
Thing is, I found this neat little adapter:

And I would like to use it, so I might be able to fight on a level playing field. Granted, I would request that the opponent ensure that none of the switches are on, since I believe the operate some lame turbo function (which I don’t plan on using).

I’ve heard that converter has a bit of button lag/dropped inputs from a thread here on SRK, however; converters are fully allowed since many use a PS3 converter to play their PS2 sticks on them. I don’t see a problem with using it (make sure turbo functions are turned off).
You’re more than welcome to use the converter. Turbo buttons are typically banned by default anyway, and if anyone is suspected of using them and is proven to have done so, they get an auto ban.
The thing is, they say it drops inputs, but then suggest something for sticks. I do not, and cannot, use a stick to save my one remaining testicle.
I play on pad, and that thread didn’t really give me much info. I appreciate you letting me know that it drops inputs, but the other options do little to benefit me. Looks like I’m stuck with the garbage PS3 pad. T_T
Yea, pad players are kinda SOL when it comes to things like this, you either learn to play on a pad not native to your system, purchase a fight pad to try to remedy, or learn to play on a stick.
