Want to build a Hitbox-style Controller in the UK but need help regarding components

Hi all,

I want to build my own hitbox-style controller from scratch, but I’m not sure on all of the items I’ll need. I’m based in the UK so a lot of the posts I’ve seen refer to US websites, but I’d prefer to get them all in the UK. This will be my first attempt ever building/modding a stick so I’m quite new to this, however, here’s a list of the items I’ve planned for:

Case
PCB (Brook PC PS4+)
15 x 24mm Sanwa Buttons (8 standard buttons, + 3 for Down, Left and Right, + L3, R3, Start, and Options).
1 x 30mm Sanwa Button (Up)

Here’s where I get confused, I’m not sure what wires I need. I’ve also heard of a JLF converter or something, but I’m not sure exactly what it is. Is there anything else that I need?

Thanks

Hi

Also from UK

There’s a venom arcade stick thread, another guy from UK made his own hitbox using that.

Check it out, a lot of what he did will apply to you.

Don’t worry about the jlf converter, you may not need it, and it sounds more than what it is.

Thanks!

Saw the post and yeah it clarified a lot for me.

This post helped too.

I was planning to use something like this as the case. Do you know anywhere in the UK/EU that sells proper hitbox styled cases?

i don’t know of anywhere that sells cases, its going to have to be a DIY job

that case looks ok in terms of size, what weight/material is it?

DIY it is.

Unsure of the material, and I only know the shipping weight which is just over 1kg.

If it isn’t sturdy, I’ll reinforce the inside with an MDF sheet.

I’ll let you know how it turns out when I’ve finished!
