in any case, I usually dash when I need to get closer and at the right distances dashin, grab blabla
ofcourse its stupid so dash in on a chun :S but you have to know when to dash, ofcourse you gonna wait outside her s.hp range =/ if you thought dashing Kens love to dash in that area then those are stupid period
I say 95 percent of the time because when ur fighting and never dashing your opponents mind is adjusting to fighting a slow hugoā¦ then u finally dash in it throws em off cuz they are not looking for a dash openingā¦ I save my dash ins for gigas heheā¦
i do not agree that every character walking is good, for some characters yo u HAVE to do stupid shit/risky shit sometimes to even gain momentum. Iām not saying like wake up parries and shit, but like for example, I play Oro, and oro HAS to use his dash and double jumps to be able to get in sometimes, if he walks all day, heās a siting duck. Have you ever tried NOT jumping with dudley, itās so fucking hard to get in with dud sometimes, you HAVE to risk jumping. Ken and chun are just solid enough to get away with walking, some characters donāt have that luxury. The only reason why hugo dosnāt dash is that his dash sucks ass. EddieW, you know itās true.
haha hell yea hugos dash sucks I just play a fearless hugo I just walk forward and watch you very carefullyā¦ I use dudley too and on most of the cast u donāt have to jump to get in I think its part of dudleys game thats why he has a low jump, he also has a pretty fast walkā¦
Jumping Dudley hurtsā¦ a lot. Honestly, if you get hit with a late jumping FP youāre dealt SERIOUS damage: (jp. FP, st. HK, EX machine gun then whatever crazy shit they pull on you, resets, etc.) Beasty.
hahaha okay, i admit, i donāt know shit about dudley i just know random mixups and have good enough reactions to hit confirm f+mk. i only really play oro and ken. sāokay though, you guys need to ride kens nuts more
Dudleyās jump is so good itās bad. I have been punished by my friendās Dudley cause he jumped over a Remy LOV. Iāve been punished cause I whiffed Chun s. fierce. Etc. His jump + his jump ins = best in the game for getting in like that.
To the guys who continue to cite Daigo and other Japanese players, you need to understand something. If you are going to choose to point out that Japanese players tend to walk a lot, you have to realize why they do it. As already mentioned, walking is generally more safe then dashing or jumping, however limiting yourself to one or two dashes per match only gives the advantage to your opponent.
I have personally played people who live in Japan, and our matches are a lot closer then you would think. Japanese players walk a lot, but they do it because everyone in Japan walks a lot. Japanese people are not gods of thinking, they have the same brains Americans do, and as a result they immitate the top players. Ken with dash mixup and walk mixup is better then a Ken who does not use dash mixup. I agree with them when they say that walking is better against passive/turtle style players, but an agressive offense can put a walker into the corner quickly.
Any thoughts? Comments? And yes, my Japanese friends are real
Its surely does, everyone not just gonna let you walk all around the screen during the match on them. Better make some other plans if you plan on just walking threw the whole match.
you can still counter ex hadouken with ex hadouken, without leaving yourself that vulnerable, but since ryu presents a pretty good target when pulling it at close range indeed jumping would be better. What I noticed with Ken is that itās usually best for him to move only forward, this way abusing his priority on certain punches and kicks.
