First and foremost, Congrats to Grifter for winning the BB Tourney in Syracuse! Almost went all the way without throwing a single game, but he lost one in the Grand Finals.
I won’t be around for 2 and a half weeks, as I’m home in Boston for now, but contact Grifter on his AIM, i think it’s listed on his profile page, and you guys better keep that saturday Cyberstorm shit flowing.
Once I get back, RIT will be back in business and we can use their setups at EGS, or my living room at my apartment.
But yea, as far as Arena is concerned, I see Calvin hang out at Cyberstorm all the time now, and neither he or Thorne have expressed any interests in re-opening Arena I beleive.
Hey guys. Thanks for coming out to Syracuse for the tournament. Gary M (must be Grifter?) who won BB, congrats! I know the 2nd and 3rd place finalist also play on XBL.
Hope everyone enjoyed the tournament and thanks for supporting the event.
Please keep track of upcoming events on upstatefighting.com! Also, if you guys are having a get together or a tournament in anything please let us know. We’re only a short drive down i90 away.
Yea, I didn’t do that well, but it was really fun despite the cramped space.
I think you guys did a wonderful job hosting it. Though not everything started on time, all the matches got on without much difficulty given the amount of setups available.
You guys should look into hosting at CyberStorm in Rochester sometimes. It’s a new Lan center, it’s big, and it’s got lots of setups. and far too much space.
Yea, all the HDTV’s are set to game mode, with 2ms refresh rates. I don’t think it’ll go any lower than that, we played BB and SF4 on it and as far as I can tell there wasn’t any input delays.
Just wondering if anyone is going to be at ZeroFest at RIT next Saturday (5th). I hear they’re going to have Street Fighter set up. I don’t want to play against a bunch of kids who are like, “dude i totally played Street Fighter when I was 10!” Just wanted to see if I’ll have competition.
Pretty large amount of people at ZeroFest for SF4 and BB, though not too many serious BB players.
Some guy was talking about some BB tournament at Cyberstorm this Saturday, but haven’t heard too much about it from the general populous that plays BB in Roch. If anyone has word on that, that would be nice.
We’re still holding a Cyberstorm meetup this Saturday so me Grifter and some other BB regulars will be going anyways.
… so, for all those who didn’t come to ZeroFest, you missed out on my ass being kicked by an awesome female player, which I did not get her name. I was too busy losing my pride. Anyways, hope to see some of ya this Wednesday at EGS’s weekly meet.
yea Gary, I’ll get you more info on that the coming week. You should show up to EGS. I told the EGS people that were playing fighters about the saturday cyberstorm meets, we’ll see how many show up this weekend.
So, do the EGS guys meet at Cyberstorm on saturdays for fighters as well as their normal wednesday meeting at SAU? Is SF4 played frequently at the EGS meetings in SAU? I may join the club if so, if not, :|.
