I’m shocked no one made a thread for it yet how can srk be sleeping on AW? It’s definitely among the most anticipated games of this generation for me since Max Payne 1 n 2 are among my favorites and AW just looks sick. Games that focus on ambiance and atmosphere are too rare nowadays.
There are 6 free webisodes on xbl. They’re a prequel to AW which are as entertaining as they are creepy and confusing, if the game is anything like this mini series then Remedy wasn’t joking when they said they were inspired by Twin Peaks (one of the greatest shows ever.)
Picking up my copy after work, can’t fucking wait!
Amazing game so far, it’s a very different kind of scary then Dead Space which uses the dread of alien infested human zombies to scare you at every turn along with a foreboding sound design while AW is more about a creepy there’s more to the story then others are letting on vibe going on.
The l trigger flashlight intensity is an incredibly clever mechanic yet so simple.
I really enjoyed it. The combat was really intense, the story was interesting, and the game made great use of music (In Dreams - Roy Orbison, for example). After finishing it, i can see why Remedy decided to make this instead of Max Payne 3.
I’m afraid it’s most likely canceled. There was a big stink about it a few months ago when some Microsoft reps stated that the game was best played on your couch with the 360. And that was last we heard of the PC version.
Anyway, i’m planning on going through Nightmare mode now to find the rest of the manuscripts. The combat’s even more intense now.
On episode 3 I love how Remedy kept the locked door sound effect from MP and the narration heavy style of story telling. AW delivers on the hype, though some of the manuscript pages are a bitch to find requiring teh interwebz.
It’s not like that at all it’s very similar to MP in the way that the core combat is repetitive but so intense that that’s actually a good thing lol and it’s extremely narration heavy like MP. Everyone says it’ s about 8 hours.
RDR is an amazing game but I’ll take AW over it in a heartbeat.
I only played a little bit of SH so I can’t make a true comparison, but I can tell you it’s a lot more action heavy than SH and has a big focus on an intentionally confusing psychological horror plot.
I still have to beat this game. I got halfway through, and all my save info is still on my old console’s HDD. So until I can get that onto a new HDD, I dont feel the need to go back and replay it all
I got it, but I’m giving up generally on it since when I play arcade and I know I’m dodging the Taken’s attacks, there’s either another one waiting to hit me (since I have no time to recover from the initial dodge) or the dodge doesn’t work and 2 Taken hit me. SO I haven’t got the achievements for Arcade mode
When I first played AW, I wasn’t too exisited, but when I got more into the story, I’m not gonna lie and say I was playing a video game.
I was reading and actually playing a video game. Since It sounded more of a book reading to me. (even though the book came out AFTER the game)
