Wait, when did Sirlin make a freaking Puzzle Fighter board game?

ugh. i feel like that has potential to burn a portion of your initial clientele. i’ll probably buy the 2nd printing when it makes it to tanga, or when the expansion comes out. lol.

i’m reading up on the rules, in my waiting for a shipping confirmation; a few questions:

-does the gem stack in last-in-first-out (LIFO) fashion, for the gem pile? or is it a scattered gem pile, as opposed to a neatly arranged stack?

-‘master puzzler’ theoretically lets you gain up to and use 9 chips from the bank? at no cost at that. am I interpreting that correctly? that seems broken, which is why i think i’m missing something.

-reaction chips don’t necessarily stop an attack correct? or is it implied that an attack is negated whenever a blue chip is used against a red?
-reaction chips go back in hand upon revealing unless otherwise said, or are discarded upon showing?

It doesn’t matter because you choose what gems to attack with block with and combine anyway. the end result is the same.

Master Puzzler has a cost of 12, the highest in the game. it takes quite a while to actually build up your economy to support purchasing that depending on your character selection.

reactions only react to the types they can react to, blue shield for red fist, purple shield for crashes(which are also purple), and they don’t negate the action, the just happen in addition. So when you counter crash you take the gems, but you counter with whatever in your own gem pile right after.

All played chips are discarded during the cleanup phase after use unless it says otherwise.

Any news on when the next print run of Puzzle Strike will be released?

Wow, that is really pricey for a board game. Not really in the market for one right now, plus chips sound really awkward. Will keep it in mind though because you rarely see comeback systems designed into boardgames. They are generally runaway leaders (because you generally get more resources, so that lets you get even more resources and options to secure the win).

Flash Duel however sounds very interesting, It’s hard to find really good 15 minute or less games that are really great for game nights because the let you wait for others to finish or give you a warm-up or quick close to the night. Will VERY likely be picking up one or two of these games within a year.

Just ordered Flash Duel: Deluxe at Amazon, 29.99 would have ordered Puzzle Strike too but I guess the 2nd printing isn’t ready for shipping. Hey Sirlin why is the shipping more expensive from your site than Amazon? With free shipping for Puzzle Strike I’ll be getting it from your site. Is there any kind of notification I can sign up for for Puzzle Strike?

Preorders are up! The price has dropped, too. Sirlin.net - Yomi and Puzzle Strike (2nd Printing) Pre-orders

Want this so bad.

One more time, congrats Mr. Sirlin, on being able to do all of it. Gonna have to work the wife to see if I get a copy.
