Wait how do you?

deal with Yun’s cross up divekick in the corner?

I can only block it. But how do you parry it?

Like when Jiro parried the cross up xx demon.

Ever since Ryan and them talked about parrying the knee drop with chun after the unblockable set up I have started to rethink this situation BUT I still stick with my original sentiment; Parry out of the corner cause then it all gets to be too specific.

Cross-up parry towards the corner although they can time it to hit from either side. Also when attempting to punish on parry it can cause moves to come out the wrong way.

If it’s the predictable meaty mk/hk version, you just parry it like a cross up. Good yuns will vary the timing and version (lk, mk or hk). The best way to deal with this mix up is to try to time a parry and then just hold that direction until you see what side it goes on. That way if the divekick goes in front, then you’ll block, and if it goes behind, then you’ll parry and then you can react with a grab or punish. If he does the divekick too early/high then he won’t be able to combo it into a move, at which point go for a punish (preferrably not grab because he can often neutral jump out of getting grabbed and then he’ll just go for another air mix up).
