SSF4 arcade update: Gen can no longer move or jump, he must win with buttons alone.
Gen now has to stop and take beta blockers Hakan-style to avoid being hurt by his own normals
"His Dive Kick is good, but you cannot do it as close to the ground as Rufus can. Also, like in Third Strike, the button pressed when doing this move determines the angle it comes in at."
Phew! I was worried that the twins were going to be stuck with Rufus’s lame dive kick
I’m going to miss universal overhead though, maybe they’ll be able to link something out of f+MK in this game (i doubt it)
Edit: I just finished flyering most of the buildings we missed last night, should be good
Sadly they already took down our flyers that were on the TvC and SF3 machines
I just saw a flier at Haas, they look really cool.
Yes they do
e: lmao that was in all caps and got autofixed when I posted it
when are you guys gonna host a ssf4 tourney so i have a reason to go to purdue
we’re getting official Fighting Game Club organizational stuff (club callout etc) done this week
hopefully that means we can start getting bigger tourneys organized soon? it’s harder to do if there’s money involved but prizes >> bragging rights
Wait…are you the same kourck who showed up at Purdue for a Smash Bros. tournament and played money matches in SSF4 with us?
yes. i was considering going last weekend for a similar reason but decided to save the money towards sb5 instead. i have some friends who play smash and can generally convince them to carpool, resulting in mitigated gas cost etc. also it’s more like “showed up at purdue for ssf4 money matches and it was at a smash bros. tournament”, since I haven’t played that game seriously since about '07.
I thought so! This if 'Fro by the way. I was hoping to play you again and try to better my performance from last time and just get to play a match-up that I need work on. I only managed to play Dart last weekend, but a couple of our Smash players really want to play. You already played Jayford. There’s also this guy called Brett, who is one of the nation’s top 32 in Melty Blood. He plays Sim.
Word, cool… he better watch out though cause I eat 'Sims for breakfast in my pancakes in lieu of blueberries, cause sometimes I run out
Hey, can someone remind me where and when the callout is tomorrow night? And what were we planning on doing there?
Thursday September 16th 7pm-8pm in Beering Hall Room 1245
I just saw the poster for our call out. I lol’d at Ryu and Ken for some reason =_=
btw did you notice that we just got Tatsunoko vs Capcom arcade? It wasn’t a week ago or so I’m pretty sure… Now we need a Blazblue arcade >_>
Awesome, thanks.
I reserved some classrooms in Beering’s basement for us to play in Monday night, not sure how many people we’ll have or what equipment people will bring but tomorrow should be a good indication of that, I was planning on it mostly being a headcount and to get people on a mailing list sort of thing
the TVC machine has been around for at least a year
It’s in a different box now after it disappeared for a little while
I play Third Strike in the Union fairly often, would be nice to get something like Blazblue there but it probably won’t happen : \
BlazBlue is Taito type X2; I don’t think we have the necessary hardware and it’s hella expensive
Hey guys, is there an official time / place for the callout?
I won’t be able to make the callout unfortunately, but I’ll keep an eye out on the meetings. If the room in Beering is that massive lecture room I’m thinking about that is gonna be epic (no pun intended).
Why the hell did that guy get Terminator Salvation shoulda invested in SSF4 or Tekken 6 lol…yea in my dreams
