there’s no such thing as spamming. you’re either good at zoning or bad at it.
The sarcasm wasn’t obvious in that post?
Not to me. I’m taking people too seriously over the internet again.
I’m sure I am not the only person who gets taken down by this but there are many many button mashers out there in any fighting game and I lose to nearly all of em even though I know what i’m doing they always seem to hit me and get lucky and do something huge. So what’s your tips and strategies against button mashers and spammers in any game? including Naruto ultimate ninja storm generations, street fighter x tekken and persona 4 arena because I get smashed by button mashers and spammers in those
Do the same thing, over and over, as long as it keeps working. If they’re actually mashing, you should be able to figure out a counter that stops them. If you can’t do that, then good on them for choosing the optimal strategy for beating you.
I’m a scrub and can’t help. But my rule number 1 is: If I loose it’s my fault…
Then you’re not a scrub. You’re the opposite of one.

If you’re loose then you need to tighten up!
Is immediately hit in the face with a rotten tomato.
I’m a scrub and can’t help. But my rule number 1 is: If I loose it’s my fault. If I loose for “cheap tricks” “mashing” or “spamming” It’s even worse. It means I played really really poorly and need to change/understand/improve something to change that.
But If you have no idea what you are doing some players will just fireball and dragon punch you to death, and you might think it’s all they can do. The problem is not what they can do. It’s what you can’t.
that my same train of thought. just from watching high level videos and seeing why people don’t do certain things means there a way to beat it. I just don’t have the experience and the knowledge to beat what i am losing too. Which is a lot of things in many fighters.

Execution improvement is hard on a loose stick.
SRK has services in modding joysticks to help with your loose Namco stick.
That one is heralded as really good and they would probably not want it to be out of order and loose.
- FYI “spammer” is a scrub term. If someone is only doing one move repeatedly, it should be easy to counter.
What if it is indeed easy to counter and I win all of these matches? Am I allowed to call these people “spammers” then?

Nah, then they’re just scrubs for not adapting.
If some one is doing the same move repeatedly, they are usually:
A: Trying to see if you actually know how to stop it. If you can’t, why would they throw away the match like that?
B: Think the move is better than it is. Usually, bopping them with your counter tactic makes them stop.
C: Afraid of having to block/deal with your character. Once again, they stop when you counter it a few times.
Seriously, just find a way around it. Idk how most people deal with fireballs in SF4/SFxT, I haven’t played in almost a year and I’m a Dudley main. 99 times out of 100, spammable non-projectile attacks are unsafe enough to punish or don’t lead into anything threatening.
