Focus Attack against Cannon Strikes… it works like a charm… unlike Rufus… Cannon Strike has longer recovery…

if the dives are close try to break momentum with c.lp… it stuffs Cannon Strikes… (dont c.lk tho… u’ll be hit)

as i said before just CROUCH BLOCK on pressure… the worst thing Cammy can do is Throw… (so be ready to tech throw)… however, a double Tiger Knee Cannon Strike wins over Throws (also Abels Tornado Throw)… then it could be followed up with a combo that may end up with Ultra :slight_smile:

i will probably record some matches against Chun Li and see what works and what not :slight_smile:

You’ve got Bison cornered, he does a random ultra that you block… now what?

Dashing after him just makes the psycho crusher hug the right side of the screen and man I tried so hard but that ultra moves faster than dashes. I don’t know if there’s enough time to charge ultra, but I can’t imagine it ever juggling right. I guess you might be able to tag it with a normal on the way “out”, but when I see an ultra I’m pretty conservative so I haven’t tried that.

If Bison ultras out of the corner what is the single best way to punish it, either positionally or damage wise or whatever? At least dashing after him resets the stage positioning instead of putting you on the corner-side of the stage.

As a side question, what is the fastest way to move horizontally without regard to safety? I assume it’s dashing, and not spamming hazan-shu or df.rh.

I got beat really bad vs cammy the other day. Locked me down close range and I couldn’t get out. EX dive kicks are killer with her, turns into a guessing game not in your favor since dive kick stuffs ex sbk. Once cammy got meter, it completely shut me down.

After a blocked ex dive kick cammy can:

  1. grab
  2. cr.lk -> BnB
  3. cr.lk -> grab
  4. go into another ex dive kick (beats option select and low block to defend #2)

Thing that killed me is if I guessed wrong and got hit by an ex dive kick, my opponent would empty all his stocks into linked ex dive kicks, then after outta stocks would cr.lk -> BnB. I haven’t been able to do it myself in training to find how much damage it did exactly, and changed depending how many stocks, but its a major threat. Poking worked a bit, but when he started catching on FA kept him safe.

I asked the guy to play me again later so I could try and come up with a strategy, but I’m at a complete loss to dealing with cammy once she has decent meter. Any help is appreciated.

i can help a bit with cammy-

firstly, you dont want to run away as much as you want to space her to keep her out, because her damage potential REALLY hurts chun (im sure you know how bad a random cannon spike hurts) and her pokes arent as good as yours…cause if u put yourself in the corner running away, well its just like rufus, dive kick mixups…ALL…DAY

-Her ultra and ex spiral arrow or whatever at a certain range go underneath your fireballs. Be very wary of this when she has bar or ultra.

  • If they like to spiral arrow, on block punish accordingly(BnB’s) and DO NOT try and throw her out of it as she has time to input a random cannon spike to hurt you.
  • When she does that little hooligan throw crap, ex or not, you can air throw her out of it, neutral j. roundhouse/j.fpx2 also works, but you gotta hit her before she gets too close to you, if your feeling risky about it, you can s. rh it, and sometimes it comes out as the cl. st. rh. If they do it on your wakeup, ex sbk. Im not rly sure what to do about it with no bar though…
    -I dont think she can do anything about s.mp(besides focus) so throw that out as your favored poke.
    -When she does do the dive kick, i like to FA it and hit her when she lands, and depending on what u wana do, either dash forwards or backwards. I always go forwards, i wana let em know whose boss :wink: Really good cammys sometimes, like to do a very short jump dive kick after they land since it punishes if you input throw, dont input throw so fast right when they land from a blocked dive kick unless you see it coming, cause it can lead to very damaging combos. If she does the dive kick on your wake, i always just block. It DOES stuff the ex sbk so id rather take chip then lose 1 super bar and more health…
  • Personally, I NEVER do the d/f rh against good cammys on wakeup. Cannon spike always hits me so i would recomend jus letting her up or keep her stationed with a fb (dont throw it too late or else u can get ultra’d)
    -when you want to go on the aggressive, follow your fireball since she cant really do much about it(they might go for an ex spiral arrow to go underneathe it i think…), so if they do those, block and punish, if they jump, i usually air throw them, or j. mk/j.rh/jfpx2, if they fa i usually throw a poke(s.mp/s.fp)
    -If they do that spin knuckle thing the move where she turns and hits you twice with a fist, i think you can hit her(grounded no jumping) before she hits you, but i always just neutral jump RH and start a combo of my choice(preferably either cr. fp to mk sbk, or cr. fp to hk legs combos) im not sure if the move is fast enough to hit you if throw a fb and they react, so im not sure about that :sweat:

On the Cammy Match-up

If you can predict when they’re going to do a dive kick, you can take a step back or back dash depending on the distance and do cr rh. You can also AA her dive kicks with st. mk or st. fp/st. rh from away If they try to do a naked spiral arrow to a canon spike, you block = free ultra. I’m pretty sure that you ultra a block spiral arrow. I’m going to see if I can get Sanford to play his Cammy against me. He hates fighting Chun with Cammy cuz Chun is annoying with pokes. :rofl:

I usually stuff hooligans, ex or not, with st fierce. Works like a charm once you get the timing down. It doesn’t knockdown, but it gives you breathing room.

f. throw>f. dash> j. lk cross up seems to work fine against her, but I could be wrong, as all of my experience has been via online matches.

You can ultra punish her spinning knuckle move on reaction. With no ultra meter I usually punish with cr lp x3>st fp.

st. mp is amazing in this matchup.

Dive kicks…god I hate dive kicks. backdash and FA have worked for me, but it all depends on her timing.

still no tips against bison? I think it’s the hardest 6-4 match up ever lol…actually I have no idea how this can be in advantage for Chun.
I really have a hardtime anti-airing him, his j.HP is too good beats and trades with a lot of my AAs. If I try to meet him in mid-air he has good attacks there too, so I keep trading and losing a lot. Oh, and of course a few of his jump-ins beat ex-sbk almost always.
I can’t apply decent pressure on him because of his many “get out of jail free”-moves. And then of course since I can’t pressure or keep him away, I have to deal with his pressure game…what are the safes ways to try to get out if you’re in the corner? I tried mashing ex legs after blocked scissor or lk hasan-shu, I don’t think there’s many other way others than trying to beat his short o doing a random jump over his head.

Both Cammy and Bison lack a fireball so you know eventually they are going to hurl themselves at you. I let Cammy come to me and counter accordingly. With regard to Bison he doesn’t have a massive anti air game, it depends on your opponents skill of course but jump attacks may be more favourable than against other fighters. Also if you keep him at bay 90% of the time they will try the head stomp which can be beaten with her crouching mids I’m sure this is mentioned somewhere in the matchup thread. I might be underestimating the match ups against these two though.

My notes against bison:
st.hp AA
st.mp poke stuffs scissors nicely
FA stance from outside range of two scissor hit (absorb only 1 hit)
c.mk after blocking headstomp etc ducks under the follow up and free damage
look out for devil reverse whiff then dash ultra
anticipate headstomps etc and air throw be ready for wakeup exStomp
in close range and okizeme cross him up and use d/f.rh mix him up
