Well, whoever started the shit about steven being grandmaster’s student is full of shit. Grandmaster does not take understudies, all he does it help everybody out. No matter the person, no matter the game, i feel that when 2 people are playing at different skill levels, the more experienced is always a teacher.
As far as tourneys and all that shit goes, I will be working on some for Fresno. I have no hostilities towards anybody from other arcades or areas, so all are welcome.
The one main reason that there was a lacking turn out for the Tekken tourney a few months go was due poor planning. The heads-up time was not enough, the start time of the tourney was changed without notification, and it was not organized very well.
I am working on a tourney site for both arcades which should run something like this:
-Registration will be done online (those without comp access can be worked with)
-Deadline for registeation will placed in advance, as well as a 1-2 month notification of tourney taking place.
-A list of those registered will be on location day of tourney, and entry fees will be processed there.
-A calendar and ladder board will be up to keep track of past, present, and future matches along with the involved players.
-I can manage the tourneys at Fresno, but I will need one candidate from Visalia (and Merced if anything happening there yet) to handle their location’s matches.
I hope to have this feat accomplished, or at least in basic development over the next month, with an ETA for completion to be the beginning of summer at the latest.

ok well ill most likely be running the mvc2 brackets/tourney cuz no one at vna knows how to run one really… the matches are gonna be 2/3 first round till the semis which will most likely be 3/5 depending on time constraints( if there are any)…losers is gonna be 2/3 all the way till losers finals.
brackets will be set up to where you dun play someone you came with first round, but after that there is nothing we can do… there will be no floating =)
rules, basically its side/order you can flip for it, and winner has to keep same team same order.
i also wanted to ask the question if 1-$ entree fee would be too much, i think it would be more comfort for people comin from long distances…but if people want 5$ thtas fine…so 10 or 5 $ entree fee?

The entry fee should be based upon the % of the entry $$ that will be given to each place (i think 1st and 2nd only, but a 3rd is possible). Also take into consideration the admission fee in general for the arcade. So what could possibly be done is have entry fee and admission total to between $5-10. (ie. Admission ~$2.00, entry ~$3-5)
If possible, what I will probably do (at least at Fresno) is have the remaining % of the total entry go back to cost of running site, etc. Its not very costly, so I dont expect to need like $100 each time.
This is something that I hope everyone will provide opinions on. I am trying to get things going so that all of you can have fun and earn something on the side, without having to drive 1000 miles to Vegas arcades for. Hell, I dont even play any of the tourney related games.

7 for one. I think it should depend on how many people come… If like only ten people show up make it 3 with a first and sec prize only… but a show of 15 - 20 (sounds possible) should be 5 with a first, second, and third… just my two cents:D
I’m also glad Telly tel is taking over the running of the tourney sweet the tourney well actually be smooth… I feared someone else was going to run it that never had experience.

CvS2 and MvC2 sticks…
MvC2 recently had new 360’s and competions installed and are fuctioning wonderfuly.
CvS2 (due to tight management) opted to replace the worn joys, that have been in the machine for the past year, with new competitions, (not 360’s) At the present time the joy handle isn’t as tall as the 360’s at BB’S (hela good) and is a little lower compared to the joys on fighting games here but that can be fixed if the VNA management opts do grind a “slot” for the joys housing.

No that would be Juan. He could give 2 shits about tourneys, even though he plays MvC2. And you can actually thank him for the fucked up sticks on SNK. He wanted to put SNK sticks in MvC2 when SNK was down for a few months. I moved one to see if it would work, and it didnt. So when we went to put it back in SNK, it wouldn’t fit right. We never figured it out. We are guessing that first manager put them in wrong, but they worked, and once you go to put them in the right way, the okie rigging had screwd it up. I had put some fresh 8-ways (haha) in there just to have SOMETHING when it was fixed. But I found some 360s to make things a bit better.
Yes, the T4 here is working perfectly with some discrepency in the blocking which pisses me off, but I can do nothing about. I will check to see if Auto-guard is on or not.
And as far as who I am, I am usually the only worker always in black shorts. I usually close weekends now.
