Damn, people go hard enough on this that a thread is surviving in FGD?
Just sent you a friend request. If you’d like, we can get some player matches going and run down a few of the VRs you’re interested in.
sounds good dude, I’ll probably be on later tonight or sometime this weekend.
I’ll definitely take you up on that offer :bgrin:
Wow, I’m surprised that SRK has a VOOT community.
XBL gamertag: Miller4834
Main VRs: Temjin, Specineff
You could say I’m an average-above average player. I can hold my own against JPN players, though I could use some work in some spots.
Hit me up for a few matches.
If anyone is interested, the old vo.net community has relocaded here: http://www.oratan.com/forum/index.php
New members are always welcome
High level VO players disagree, apparently… and even to my scrubby ass it seems like a digital, 4-way stick is going to be superior to the imprecision and huge dead zone of analog.
Anywhere here’s some crazy Japanese match videos:

for the straight up newbs like me that never had anyone but the computer to play over ten years ago… i find this FAQ well written and goes into many advanced techniques, explains crouch attacks and all of the other different types of attacks plus some advanced strategy for most mechs thx to the guy that wrote all of this info almost ten years ago:

I just like how easy it is to jump dash and jump cancel with Twin Sticks A, but I’ve been working on getting used to standard. Standards a bit more confusing , but its nothing practice won’t fix.
The analog sticks are fine for me, honestly, its the triggers that are pissing me off. Anyway, I need a freakin’ twinstick.
I concur on all points. I hate that all current gen systems use triggers =/
Edit: added a bunch of guys
Gonna post this in the other thread, too, but just a warning. Something seems to be terribly wrong with the replay save system. I had like 5 different replays which I just saved with the default name of the matchup. Instead of recording each of them, it made 5 copies of the first replay. I tried going through and deleting the extra replays to see if it was just playing the first one, but either I’m the unluckiest bastard ever and deleted the first one last, or each of the replays was just the same replay.
So yea, I would avoid making files with the default name, no matter how quick it is.
i posted this in the other thread already, but add my gamertag. i love playing this game.
gamertag: SQUIRTLE WINS
Hey there. Longtime lurker here. I’m just going to go ahead and add a bunch of Gamertags from the various VO threads. Been shooting the breeze with a handful of players from other forums and it’s been a blast so far.
The netcode has been surprisingly good considering that about 95% of my random matches have been against Japanese players. It’s as if every Japanese 360 owner bought this freakin’ game.
I’m going to add everyone in this thread. We should try to get a big SRK Xbox Live Party room going today.
This just in: You can use LB and RB to change the music in the online menus.
Yo, Miller, Sixty, Good games guys. Player lobby is tight, we need to get a whole SRK room going down one of these days.
I started a chat channel on IRC for Virtual On discussion and sharing strategies. It’s #virtualon on IRC server EFNET. See you there!
So when it comes to color edit. I can make one for DNA and RNA without one overriding the other correct? I made to separate ones and ended getting the RNA when I used my DNA color edit.
It depends on which player you are.
When you make the save, theres the DNA/RNA option, if you edit just one, you’ll ONLY get your color edit when you are on the appropriate side. You have to make a color edit for each side on the same save.
Bal-Bados got even more fun when I realised how to detach his arms seperately. I caught someone online in his big triangle prison special attack which was pretty cool. And that is my story.
Also Giant Dordray is good for laughs.
I just went through a quick romp of arcade mode to unlock Prototype Temjin & Raiden for the hell of it.

Very Easy settings on the 360 version are retardedly easy. The enemy basically waits long enough to give you a free hit every round, and Bradtos & Tangram seem to have less health than normal.
-
The prototype VRs are insanely nerfed. No air dashes, no changing direction mid-dash, no turbo weapons. Seems even more limited than 10/80 SP.
