Virtua Stick High Grade & Hori Fighting Stick 3

I own 2 post-recall VSHG’s and I wish I had bought a HRAP3. The recalled VSHGs still suffer from input problems, and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

are you absolutely sure that the HRAP3 does not have these problems??? i also have a vshg and seem to have problems, i only use it for arcade emulators on pc.

i have problems pulling 3-button moves off in that. however, 3 -buttons-moves are 100% consistent on GGXX:reload on PC. i don’t understand it…

Guys I have a VERY old MAS stick that has a PS2 plug. The stick is about 10 years old. I use a JoyBox psx>pc converter for mame and FBA, but I’m not really happy with the performance. I play Samurai Spirits 2 alot and pulling off certain moves like Ukyo’s fire birds are a major pain in the ass.

Do you guys think I am getting lag on this setup, and if so do you think it’s worth buying a VSHG to replace my MAS stick? I’m used to the American “bat top” type sticks, but is it easy to adapt to Japanese-style “ball-top” style sticks?

Is VSHG more responsive than MAS sticks in emulators?

^ It’s not the stick per say it’s probably either the pcb or your usb ports. You could overclock the usb ports and sometimes it solves the problems with lag. Check this thread out.

I wonder if Sega actually realizes the amount of complaints the VSHG has still when it comes to the 3 button press problem even with the post recall.

Eh it works fine for the game it was made for, and it’s out of print so I’m guessing they don’t care anymore.

for that 3 button input problem on the vshg, does that also apply for the supposedly fixed recall joysticks? i bought mine after the sticks had been recalled, and sometimes i have a hard time doing 3 button supers on alpha 2 on ggpo, but it’s not impossible, custom combos come out easy though, those are also 3 button combos. do the joysticks count as a button press?

For me it was just the buttons.

The problem was aldo on the post recall sticks, but the game works perfectly for VF5

is there a way to fix this on the pcb guys? is this only for pc play? or ps3 play as well?

I was playing alpha 2 and practicing the supers, it’s possible to hit all three buttons and do the super, but the joystick is very unforgiving…which sucks. even for two button supers i had problems some times, but if it’s a problem for 2 button supers as well, then it’s not just a 3 button problem.

You could either put an X360 pcb in there or put a PSX pcb in there and use converters.

sorry for bumping up old threads but i didnt want to make one where theres this one already.

is there still another store selling vshg? or second hand? ebay sells em for 200 bucks. which is a gyp.

You could try to put a thread in the trading outlet and hope that someone is willing to part with theirs.

Honestly I don’t even know how much of a gyp it is, after using this side by side with the HRAP, I totally understand why people might pay a premium for it, for those who want sanwa, that is. Not to exacerbate the situation.

they pop up on ebay once in awhile from u.s. sellers so i’d just keep looking.

i seen one sell for like $71 not too long ago and one as high as $135

God damn would I love one of those VSHG’s.

There are a couple for sale in the trading outlet. They pop up from time to time. I’ve sold a few myself, but I only have 1 left that I’m keeping for myself. It really is a great stick. I love the overall feel and weight to it.

Hi guys im missing 2 sliver top screws for the my vshg…any1 know where i can get some replacements?
