I got Virtua Fighter 5 yesterday. It was just released. I’m very impressed with it, and wrote a quick review on it if anyone is interested in checking it out.

This seems more like fanboy fanfare than a review.
Other than quest mode I have no idea what makes the game so great.
I honestly haven’t played virtua fighter since the original to when they first introduced that old drunk guy who goes up on his hands and wiggles his feet around to kick you.
Man that guy was cool and so was the ninja and that guy who hits you with his pony tail.
Now that I look at the cover it just looks like a tekken clone and I don’t see anything that feels like virtua fighter.
And oh man, boy do I hate tekken (aka clunky fighter - though I don’t know if they’ve improved clunkiness lately).
Man and the tekken cast… paul, aka cylinder head, that old guy with the ‘horn-hair’… man I just wanted to break that game when I went to arcades.
Falling all clunky around and getting juggled by some guy slapping your leg while you’re laying in the air.
Trying to grab someone and going THROUGH them… man… pain… anger…
SFEX was like the holy grail compared to that.
Honestly I’m just trying to entertain you guys with my thoughts on the game. But you should try out the quest mode on the 360 if you haven’t had a chance. It is a lot of fun, and yes I am a fanboy. I can handle that.

Best part of the review. No hard feelings. it’s just you should have given a more in-depth review.
there’s already a VF5 thread and your review stinks. It doesn’t give any information other than it’s a good fighter but no real talk about it’s fighting system and why it’s better than the competition. Also it could use a PS3 vs. 360 comparison. Your review is only useful to those that know a lot about VF and if they do then chances are they don’t need your review so your review serves no point really.
I like how you’re a loser waiting around on SRK to call people you don’t know scrubs.
But seriously, if you read my post you would see I’m just going by my memories of the old characters and what I saw on the COVER because I haven’t had much to go on other than this minimalistic review.
So hey if you played the game, you could say something like “It’s not like tekken it has all the old chars plus bla bla bla” or whatever.
Instead you just take the ‘scrub’ route because the sum of your life experience is the mentality of a middle school kid.
Does he really need to make a valid argument after you said you based your argument on the games cover? I mean, his implied argument (that you need to play the game before you pass judgment) is still a better argument than your expressed “but the cover looks similar!” argument.
Memories of VF2 aside. (Which was, last time I checked, a game over ten years old. Hardly much to base an opinion on the current games with.)
why even say anything about something you don’t know about especially when you’re going to say something as stupid as, “judging from the cover it looks like a tekken clone lolololoolol.”
If I went around in my everyday life giving opinions about things I have no clue about someone will eventually punch me in the face because there’s nothing more annoying then some smartass giving their opinions that could be seen as criticism about something they are ignorant of.

This isn’t my thread, I was just trying to start up some discussion of how this game is compared to the old ones because I was interested in a review/hearing some input to see if I could cut through the hype.
But then again, if I have to point out the obvious everything that can and will be said has already gone way over your heads.
Maybe I’ll go read/skim through some gamespot user reviews or see if they have it set up to play at gamestop.

Why not download the demo? It’s on the 360 marketplace if you have one. VF2 was great imo.

I’m not going to spend a lot of time arguing here, I don’t think it’s really constructive. But the game came out literally two days ago (for the Xbox 360.) I’ve had it for one day. So, based on playing it for one day there you go. My thoughts on it. I love it.
