Ah, that’s what Reno meant when he said the system was going closer to VF4 again. Yeah, sounds good.
With the reduced directions though I do wonder what will happen to the amount of throw diversity the characters have in their movelists and how that will work now.
Easy, they just remap them with overlapped ending directions. You’ll have f,f+p+g / f+p+g / hcf+p+g / 270+p+g / b,f+p+g / d,f+p+g / and so on. You could have dozens of high throws with just two ending directions and neutral.
Personally I would’ve preferred that they kept all d/b and d/f throws in there as 0 damage position exchange throws, but I can understand why scaled back everyone to only three directions. In the end if it helps the lower level players and keeps them more interested in the game, I’m all for it.
If they took out df motion for throws, I’m wondering if that’s going to take away the advantage of say, Jeffry Cruifix Piledriver. The d/f, d/f motion was great for obvious reasons, gave the throw tremendous range, built in crouch dash, etc. I hope that’s kept in some similar fashion. Additionally it can keep some opponents honest because from those motions jeffry could easily go into his uppercut (also a floater)…
Some of those throws were great because of the motions that were before them, and they could be utilized differently in various situations. I mean, I’m with you in that new players = good thing but we shouldn’t lose good stuff in the process…
lol you can try to deny it all you want but tekken just has the better and more realistic gameplay. japan and korea all agree with this. you can play offense or defense in tekken, but vf favors offense. why else would sega set the round timer to 45 seconds, whereas it’s 60 seconds in tekken?
look at sega trying to make VF:FS more similar to tekken with longer backdashes and decreasing the difficulty of breaking bitchmade grabs.
and i haven’t attended any major yet for a myriad of personal reasons, but if i do i would choose MLG over evo anyday. not only does it has a much larger payout, it also isn’t run by some overweight clown.
and flymike, you can ramble all you want but i haven’t seen any vid gameplay of yours yet, whereas i’ve proved my greatness with winning and placing high in money tournies. your just another confused scrub… it’s ok, you’ll get it someday.
Wow, this guy is a real idiot huh? And just youtube my name. I’m sure a few vids will pop up. Also it’s official. You are a fucking clown. I usually find it humorous listening to trolls and scrubs. You’re both, but for some reason this shit is highly annoying. Since nobody agrees with you, at all, why don’t you go do 10 strings online or some shit? Don’t come back until I ask for Scenario Mode tips. Thanks.
No one is bothering to reply to you seriously because defense and spacing are different in VF than they are in Tekken. Offense and Defense are pretty equal in VF but you don’t understand the game enough know.
that’s why tekken’s gameplay is better than VF’s, it actually rewards patience and defense. the clock actually gives you the option to have enough time to run around and set things up in tekken, whereas you’re forced to rushdown in VF. look at SF4, each round is 90 seconds there. why did sega decided to make VF:FS more similar to tekken with increased backdash range and lessen the effectiveness of grabs? no offense, but you’re arguing with a top level player here. i’ve concepts and knowledge that are much more advanced/next level than you’re currently capable of grasping. there’s nothing too complex/different about VF’s gameplay that i’m unable to analyze.
Would you guys just ignore him please? He is talking about how long matches are for each game. No one gives a fuck. Back to the VF talk.
I’m still iffy about the changes to the throw system. I liked the idea of multiple throw breaks as it was a unique approach to the throw game. The fact that there are no longer 0f and throw clashes does change up the gameplay quite a bit so that multiple throw breaks might no longer be “needed”. I dunno. It is a loke test and things are still being felt out. Just gotta wait and see what happens in the long run.
The new(returning) TE method and general ways the way throws work is gonna make or break this game, imo. When I saw the El Blaze throw changes, I was like “whoa”, I didn’t feel too good but it’s still early. No throw clash is cool, I didn’t mind it too much but I’m not sad about it leaving either. I like that throws are faster overall now but the TE method that’s been used in the last several games was cool. If it gets more people playing I’m all for it. Hopefully if this hits console R could be included as a bonus seeing as how this is the most change in a VF to date.
I don’t like the throw system I’ve been hearing about. I hope that it’s not similar to Tekken, because I find the game play system of that to be empty. I think Virtua Fighter should continue to stand out on it’s own being original, rather to take some thing from Tekken, when they were the ones who copied off of them first.
