Reading all this talk about VF4 Evo makes me wanna go pick it up, and pick up VF5 again.

Lau was pimpin’

i just started playing vf this week i should have started way sooner its spectacular

Are they implementing ninja stars and reversals to diving moves? Probably not, but that trailer was awesome. They better port it.

Well, nothing about it at E3. Keeping my fingers crossed for some news during TGS. How long has VF5FS been out in Japanese arcades?

It doesn’t even have a release date for arcades yet, Kamaage I believe said that it would be out in September, but I might be remembering that wrong. VF5 Vanilla came out in July of 2006 (fourth anniversary is around the corner, expect AM2 to commemorate the date with something). VF5R version A came out in February of 2008 which means that everyone outside of Japan has been playing an outdated version of VF since then.

The arcade with VF recently moved the machine from the entrance to a corner in the back… got replaced with BB…

Sigh… Sega makes the best fighting game and then no one plays it :frowning: (Well, including me)

Yeah. Well lack of comp in general is a bitch. Haha.

Maybe if Virtua Fighter looked like my edit, people would care.

lol. That’s not what VF is about. The image did make me laugh though.

are you the steve wilkos guy i can’t tell your other persona used ‘grimdark’ but i haven’t really seen you post on this one? not sure

Are we getting the game or not?

L_A says in December or February.

Trust L_A!

He’s been right about his “inside sources” before, so I’m willing to trust him again this time. I’ve never wanted him to be more right than I do now, haha. Come on, Sega!

We know this is why you didn’t port R! You were waiting to release FS first! Don’t make us wait until VF6 before we see another console port! Oh and give PS3 users online play this time.

If this comes out, SRK NEEDS to support with game with dollars instead of just the usual words. No excuse why this game can’t sell as well as BB.

Won’t happen. People will keep praising VF, saying how glad they are FS has released and how they are planning on getting it. And as soon as they are finished typing their version of my previous sentence, they’ll go right back to Super Street Fighter IV.

A few new faces, like any release but the SF ommunity will still be firmly playing the same boring ass game. Doesn’t matter, the VF community needs FS more than anything - they really deserve it. New faces are great, buts its w/e.

VF fans a rare breed indeed. There’s just not many of us at all and sadly…it has been that way since the beginning, lol. I’ve been following VF since the original and I’ve never seen any other community stay just about the same as it did since the first installment came out.

Sure, we have some new faces in the community, but not many at all given the time between VF1 and VF5: FS. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen the same scenario happen over the years, lol. You get some new guy trying to get into it and it goes something like this:

“This game looks sweet. I’ll try it!”

five minutes later after exiting training mode

“This game is too hard! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-”

Then they quit and go back to something easier and/or faster. Yes, BlazBlue has faster battles per se, but rounds can end pretty quickly in VF as well if you slip up against a good Akira, heh. I guess I’ll just post this picture from the gallery as a reminder for the rare VF fans being compared to the other communities. It’s pretty accurate, I’d say :stuck_out_tongue:

The one thing that might help is the fanservice. VF5FS seems to be going to about a .6 Soul Calibur in terms of that.

Besides, after SF4, those fans should be used to all the option selecting (which I’m glad FS is going to tone down, that’s my complaint about the VF series)

Yea VF is really really hard, at least when starting out. Here there about 15 or so VF players total, 10 or so of which were regulars at the time, and that was a few months ago (last I heard a lot of people just quit/moved on to something else.) Compared with SF, which has maybe 50 serious players, and Tekken which is over 100 easily, its a big difference.

I love VF but basically I can only travel across the city to play twice three times a week. Compared to Tekken where you can get matches every day at almost any place… lack of competition really is a problem.
