We’re in the same boat, only difference is I have lost 0-30…I need a training buddy badly lol
Nope, PS3.
So…item win poses…I can get them reliably on single player (eg: Jacky’s dual pistols pose = :u: + G), but online, no dice. I’m guessing the other person has to have purchased the customization pack for your character as well for the pose to be useable.
No you can get them they just don’t see it.
This game makes me rage so hard at myself. like I don’t get salty at other player- except when fighting Lion, and maybe Pai or Eileen. But every time I get hit by a 2P into a tick throw, I yell at myself for not fuzzy guarding. I miss the days when I could blame the game or lag for my fuck ups
Sometimes an honest fighter is bad for your sodium levels when you lose. No excuse other than you got beat and need to get better. it’s a reality slap in the face each and every time.
How is it bad for you?
Rather lose in vf than get xfactor come backed any day of the week, just encourages you to get better.
Fuck me people take losses so hard, you know it’s 50/50 if you win or lose you cannot win everytime
I’m having such a good time on this game, I’m thinking of switching my main from Marvel as much as I love marvel I’m just not that good at it. I even got to fight against L A Akira today, thats the first time I’ve played against any real name player in any fighting game so that was really cool.
I think to anyone ’ having issues winning, try a different character because I was losing with Eileen and as much as I love her I switched to Lion and started winning more, I’m playing them 70/30 now sometimes I’ll play some Eileen but Lion is my go-to when I wanna win
Lol lion is a winner.

Finally got some combos going. You know a game is amazing when I want to start up VF5FS instead of 3s or AE like I usually do. I decided to try out multiple characters since Akira was definately a little too hard to start out with and I didn’t flow with the character like I thought I would. Really enjoying Shun di though, learned his launchers by heart and can do some pretty nasty little juggle combos now. It’s funny how little things in this game make you feel a sense of progress.
Also this game made me realise just how atrocious the netcode for 3SOE is, ugh.
I just won about 10 games straight. I had been avoiding ranked battles because I got mashed out of a lot of stuff. But today I really blocked and attacked when it was my turn, and I won a bunch of games. It is amazing what happens when you start following the rules. I even took down some 10th Dan players out today. I need to start working on my whiff and overall punishment game. But I’m in there. Got up to third dan, and I was stuggling at first. I took a week off from playing online and starting learning my frame data. Just need to work on my execution a little more, and my movement. Also need to work on my mid range poking game, though Aoi don’t seem the strongest in that department. But I think I can definitely beat scrubs in this game now. Now if only I can play good players…
Starting to feel the frustration slightly lol.
Either people people are way better then me and mop me up which I have no problem with and don’t wanna want to waste their time playing me, completely understandable.
Or I get a bunch of 1 trick pony’s with zero movement that do the exact same setup over and over again.
Basically having a hard time finding people near my skill that are trying to get better is all, Ty for listening.
Game is still a blast to play.
same here but I got into a lobby with some friends late tonight and we played for like 3 hours working on each others game. Afterwards even though I was the best in the lobby I was able to go on a 7 game win streak on ranked before I started losing a few but I really helped my w/l ratio and I’m back to being hype to playing.
I’m still with LA Akira on the one trick pony stuff, in tekken, if it works USE IT even if your spamming, I get pissed but hell I would do the same thing, that said you gotta work and figure out what works against him I was getting DESTROYED by taka’s normal kick just hit over, and over, and over, and OVER. so me and my friends worked on figuring out a way around it and Eileens P+K is the way and Lion worked best when I just used some evades and his speed against taka, but it took us working at it.
this game is so fun it hurts but yea its easy to get salty but thats alot of the fun of it
Wait, who’s LA Akira? I fought em some time ago on Xbox Live.
Holy ssheeet, dat hurt.
Must have been Shun Di night, cause that was the character majority I kept running against, good lord.
LA akira is one of those dudes that play this since ages. Well technically Im one of those to if playing VF2 with your grandpa counts…
Anyway:
On the topic of competition in this game, it really seems to get a lot toughter once you hit the named ranks. You cannot drop below “hunter” if you were there once, but you can still drop to a lower rank if youre something like a “raider”, "“barabarian” and stuff like that. Also you only get experience for your rank by playing other people with named ranks>_> its really pretty damn tough.
The lag in online play is bad. I don’t care what people say. I can land ch 2p and try to elbow immediately afterwards (really easy to do offline), and I get 2p’d right back.
Also online play is full of people who love hitting buttons, and I count on my fingers how many times I could actually throw someone. It’s fun when you realize side dodges pretty much let you win those exchanges for free, but good luck getting those timed right with even the slightest hint of lag.
Interesting. I’ve only found 1 other Shun Di to fight against in 200+ matches.
Characters I find the most are: The Chan and Bryant family, Brad, Jean.
I haven’t see that many Brads. Mostly see Jacky, Sarah, Pai, and Akira. Surprisingly I’ve seen only one Taka and a scant few Lion players.
Man I have a story for you guys. Ok… I was in rank. I hit this guy with Goh 6,6,p and when I hit him I used my hips in it so I can put more power in the punch and all of a sudden “2nd player has lost connection” I could believe it. I hit the guy so hard that I knocked him off the internet and he landed in Netflix.
I’ve seen a lot of Jackys. I haven’t seen ANY Sarahs (I use Sarah). Saw about 5 different Takas last night.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
I play a lot on ranked. Lots of guys love that 2p. Block and elbow on defense. 8k+g on offense. Lag has only been a problem on grey connections (and then it’s my own fault for accepting the match).
Buffering 6P after a blocked 2P has really helped. Before, I’d wait until I recovered from block stun, but once I realized that that is not required in Vf, the moment I block something I input my counter attack, and things are smooth sailing from there. I also never go below 2 bars and even that is a rarity as I try to 3 bars or higher if I can.
