Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown console thread

Actually, with Yutori throw escape you can still only input one throw escape. You could do up to 2 throw escapes in the first Final Showdown but Sega quickly fixed that with the revision. It’s also not a bug, but rather a design decision by Sega to make it easier for beginners. Even though you can option select between throw escape and block, you’ll still eat low attacks and catch throws so it’s not unbeatable.

Also, the yutori input is hold G, then input P with a direction. :o

Did anyone watch the stream?

I really hope they include that replay feature that shows real time frame data and everything in the console version.

Also, the customizable intros. Those are just ballin’

I really liked the layout for pad I used when I was like 14-16 playing quest mode in VF4Evo.

R1 = G
square/triangle = P
x/o = K

I’ll learn to play it on stick too of course. Knowing how to use both could be beneficial.

What do you guys prefer?

Stick definitely feels better for doing some of the inputs like back-forward and back-down/forward

Which area has the most players for VF? I’m assuming there are but dedicated.

I was wondering about those custom intros. How do you customize those in the arcade game? Are they tied to the items you’re wearing?

great scenes are In socal and ny. But you wIll be shocked to know that someone local to you Is probably lookIng for the same competItIon too. just vIsIt vfdc forum MatchmakIng and look for your local thread or create your own

You set up your intros at the VF.Net stations in the arcade, I believe.

Reno: So while holding G first you THEN press P and either of the 3 directions and that’s the Yutari TE?

There’s a good thread over at VFDC about feature requests for the console release. It’s not an official call from Sega or anything, but Sega has said they read VFDC, so it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to head over there and let them know what you’d like to see.

I already have a copy of VF coming soon so I’ll probably be more entrenched in Training mode for the time being and maybe some online. It’s a shame I’m moving away from Socal in a month or so.

Just got a copy of this game, and am loving it so far. I was too noob when it first came out and couldn’t get the fundamentals down, but thanks to SF4, my interest and skill in fighting games has increased enough to be able to understand this game a bit more.

Unfortunately, i have the game on ps3 so there’s no online. Sucks, but oh well.

I am very hype for FS next year!

I’m getting on so if anyone wants to play just send me a invite.

All nice and dandy it’s finally getting a console release, but it won’t mean jack if Sega don’t get off their asses and find some way to attract people to this series again. Heck, I’ll get this one, but I’m worried there’ll be a brief spark, and then interest flattens to nothing.

My latest match vid, against star player YOU.

there needs to be a spectator mode and an “endless battle” mode in this game. or at least a mode that will make it easier for VF streamers to show their matches online to places like Justin.tv or Twitch.tv . its fine that there isnt a tournament mode, but there needs to be a mode that makes it easier to watch and enjoy Virtua Fighter online.

May, I only wish I could play Sarah half as well as YOU.

That Taka is pimp. Looks like a Yakuza character. Man, I can’t wait to get my hands on him. Got major love for Ganny, but Taka is prob the most badass and brutal sumo in any fg. Plus he’s been a certified beast since he came back in R, which means people already know what’s up.

Cool little bit of info. Never knew that. In what ways would you said Brad and Goh are similar to Tekken characters?

I am REALLY digging those character intros! I hope they make it into the console version, you can make some hilarious shit with that!

Best character customization I’ve seen is that one Doraemon looking Goh. Boss.

I’ve noticed that throws get broken very rarely in FS compared to R or even vanilla. Is the new system really that hard, or even bad? In Tekken, high level players (read: Koreans) break like 85% of throws because they can see the hand animations of the grab and break accordingly, and this because most throws are 12 to 10 frames and their escape window 14 frames. As far as I understand, throws in VF are either 4f or 0f with a escape window of 12 frames. Before FS, you could buffer up to 4 out of 6 possible escapes, which was reduced to 4 escapes and only one try in FS. So how is it?
