No she doesn’t play like any tekken characters that I can think of. The only characters that play like tekken characters is Brad and Goh cause they where design by the tekken team as thanks for sega letting them use there item system.
The core paper, rock, scissors of VF is this: block/evade beats attack, attack beats throw, throw beats block/evade. If you learn this you just learned 50% of the game.
by the way the tiers really don’t matter any character can win it.
Tier list is there just so we can argue of which character is best on VFDC. Its so close it really doesn’t matter. Any character can win tourneys.
Street Fighter is more about the setup while VF is more about the yomi and finding you opponents bad habits. Also VF has a steep learning curve you better train up on VF5online and get use to the game before the FS come out and the Vets put the beat down on you and you guys quit, like every VF before final showdown.
So is there a command list for FS online? I’ll (barring not be a PAX attendee) be playing this at GameWorks this friday, and wanted to see the commands for some of the characters I use. Thanks in advance.
The system between VF3 and VF4/5 is very different. There is no failed evade animation in VF3, dodges are cancelled differently, you can’t crouch buffer the way you can in 4, grab range is very short there’s no counter flash or indicator for staggers, movement is really different and uneven/undulating stages have an impact. VF4 brought in exact recovery and multi throw escape guard among other things.
Isn’t the purpose of this thread about trying to garner excitement for the game? Because typing shit like this doesn’t add to it.
I understand you want people to stick with it, it’s not SF4, etc., but telling people who are new to the game that they are going to get “beat down” and quit isn’t coming off the way you want it.
You’re also not factoring in the fact that if it’s mostly people playing this online who don’t know how to play, then there will not be “beat-downs” and the learning curve softens slightly.
So I’m glad you’re looking forward to easy wins, but I would rather people not be discouraged if they lose.
I didn’t mean it in a negative way, but look back on what I put it did come out wrong. Let me change it. I meant that there are some cats that have been playing this game for years and you should get on ask them question and do your homework before final showdown come out so you can get a head start on other players.
Get use to the system. Learn the fundamentals. Most VF players like myself are always in party find out new stuff as well as teaching the new guys. Especially now that some of the best players are getting back on it getting ready for VF5FS.
Start playing now. VF5 on Xbox is like $5-10 right now, you can games in on XBLA and get competent enough so by the time FS comes out people you can answer questions people interested will have.
I think some players here mean to say that the transition from a 2d game to a 3d game (especially VF) is not that easy. So it’d be silly to think “I’m good at SSF4, I’ll be good at VF5FS”… like any other game, it takes time to learn… but this is great, because once you learn, VF can be so deep, challenging and tier free.
Pretty sparse, so you have to hit up VFDC and set matches up from there. Traffic might pick up the new announcement but VFDC is going to be the only place to learn the game.
The one time I found someone randomly (about a month ago) I was playing against someone using Akira who did nothing put P,P. Probably trying to throw a fireball.
If you guys want you can send me a friend request or if you live in DFW we could try to get a offline thing going.
p.s For the new guys that want to get into VF. fighting games are not like final fantasy you don’t get xp for winning you get xp from losing. Just don’t let it get you down. Keep trying and you will beat them.
