That entire stream was off the chain, whatever that means lol. The opening (casual matches?) with Pai vs Sarah displayed some of the fastest decision making I’ve ever seen in VF. There were so many situations throughout the tournament which I honestly did not understand. I’d have to watch matches over and over to understand their mindsets but I get the impression the meta game in FS has evolved in JP.

LOL @ the Ryan H ring out situation. Fuudo ran a train through the comp but I guess that was expected. On an unrelated note, congrats to Marlin Pie taking UMvC3. Many thought Viper could never take a major because of the execution demand. TTT2 looks really good, can’t wait to play that along with VF.

Myke did good against Fuudo, but lost seemed to lose composure after he let Ryan get to him. I would’ve like to see Myke against Fuudo in the GFs since he put up a nice fight when they first fought.
Their Kage mirror match was pretty sweet, considering the amount of time they had with the game.
With that said, solid play all around and very enjoyable to watch.
Hey Reno, since there isn’t too much time left before VF5FS drops, me and a friend of mine are going to try and consolidate a bunch of revisions and additions to some characters in their devoted threads(I’ll be doing Eileen, and he’ll be doing Brad) on VFDC, because these characters have had many changes from our Ver.B to FS.Ver.A so I think it’s important to know a list of changes and additions before the game drops, since i’ve played it a few times before release I think I can gauge how effective it can be, once the player understands the new system changes…like P+K moves from DM(defensive move) are gone completely.

Akai also made some very interesting charts that were posted in that VFDC thread, basically displaying how often each character appears in the semifinal and final rounds of tournaments, as well how often they go on to win. Long story short, pretty much every character can compete, but the lower tier characters definitely have more work to do.

I love VF5, but get off it. Trolls flock to things that are popular (be it for negative or positive reasons), the only reason this thread doesn’t have a ton of trolls because its just that – a thread. Give VF5FS a full forum of its own and watch the morton flow.
It’s pretty cool the tourney results and tier list tell different tales.

Download packs are $5 per char, or you buy two 10 characters per pack for $15. Each individual character pack has 600 - 900 items, so those compilation packs are gonna have up to 10,000 items for $15, too good!
Also confirmed in the press release are 8 player lobbies, replay saving.
