So apparently Sega did network stress testing and got it to 8kb lower than dial up back in the day. The spectators lagged a bit but the match itself was decent, now that is serious. I never played VF5 on 360 so I don’t know if this is a rollback based netcode or delay. The rep did mention that it will all depend on your ISP and distance (Obviously) but this is good news I guess. The final code has been sent to Sony and Microsoft so I am hoping we get pricing and release date info soon. Big VF news on Monday so I’m hyped. Good stream btw.

On Xbox 360 VF5C it’s delay-based, but I’m not sure by how much. Since the input buffers in VF are large it’s very playable but still different from offline.

so a $15k tournament for VF5:FS is gonna be at Evo. i dont know how i am supposed to feel about this. on the one hand, “FUCK YEAH!! BADASS VF5 TOURNAMENT IN AMERICA!!! WOOHOO!!” but on the other hand im like…“if the japanese players come to compete, just give them the check already, we stand no chance.”
but its still a big pot tournament, hopefully it will be streamed by knowledgeable ENGLISH commentators there and i can watch some cool shit go down. good luck to all of you VF vets that plan on competing.
