How does music selection work in the arcades? Is it random or can you pick tracks?
Yes, at the VS screen you press Start and a direction
Here is the list from 5R (Japanese), it needs some tweaking updating because you can select 5R tracks in Final Showdown, but it’s accurate otherwise:

Wow, still 75 for F5? With the lifebar adjustment that kinda sucks really.
Good By To VF:5 Vanilla Tourney at Battle by the Bridge Philadelphia
also
Just thought I’d drop this here. VF5 tourney in Philly on April 1st. Entry fee is kind of crazy but there’s some grown ass men here that want to put up or shuttup. If you all want to come get it in we’ll waive the venue fee. Lets do it! Possible pot bonus if we make it past 10 entrants!
(Plenty of time for casuals too + alcohol)
Yeah man, my gripes aside with some of the stuff. I don’t think they simplified it as much as just make that much more BRUTAL. Love it!
Reno: Good stuff on that match. VF3 Akira theme was a nice touch!
Hellpockets is in the game! /ncr10jokeaboutjeffery
But yeah shoutouts to the people who played in the NCR tournament. I was close to top 8 (probably 10th place) out of like a lot but oh well! I was the guy with the Black/yellow Hungry Human shirt and the Giant Bomb shirt. Shoutouts to Renzo winning it and the chance to play against Fuudo and Chibita in the prelaunch party.
It was also my first time trying the modern iteration of Virtua Fighter (post VF3) and it felt great. I think I am gonna stick with Lion and watch Chibita vids. Too bad that Sega wont rerelease the VSHG and continue with the Hori one (They used Hori V3-SA/VX-SA models for their setups). I just borrowed Laugh’s Korean stick (Etokki Omni) because it looks like the VSHG.
Oh yeah I checked a bit of what’s in the game and saw some training stuff from VF4EVO as expected. The music option can be selected in the options. Also it has the best button check system.
I will at least TRY to play VF on a stick because unlike other fighting games, I have no bias towards any control mechanism for the game. I don’t really know how to move around even with a controller so I’m trying to commit to playing the game on a stick.
But don’t be RUDE about it.
Does it have the customizable introes of the arcade version?
This game looked fun from the STA tournament replays I had watched, but I am way hype for it after the NCRX finals. I loved when people were going crazy for the Wolf chest chops. I hope the netplay is good because 3d fighters haven’t been very popular in my area.
That sounds great, I didn’t expect those music options to hit the console release of the game. If I am not mistaken Haunts said that there would be another VF5FS stream at the end of this week?
Regardless dope stream for day 2 at NCR.
don’t know. everyone played offline vs which was just a static screen with character portraits and names which you may have seen you watched the stream. i hoping that at least online vs has it.
The archives are hype from the Japan events going on this past weekend

Just some matches of mine I had recently. You truly know how bad you really are when you watch you own VF Vids. Enjoy the ghetto video quality.
Yes Lord Haunts will be streaming the second monthly VF5 ranbat. I will see if I can check it out this Friday!
Despite what tier lists speculate, I’m still grinding it out with Eileen. The Monkey Princess will prevail
VF1 - 5 BGM options confirmed for Final Showdown!

Just wow framedata in the game, music options they really fulfilled every desire I have for the game.
Excellent post Reno, thanks!
One thing I’ve always thought was interesting is that VF seems to be a game where, if you suck and mash buttons, your character will look really awkward and silly due to the way animations are handled in the game. When experts play the game looks really fluid, which is one of the things I like about VF.
But, it might be one reason why it doesnt really attract newcomers or casuals - the game animates rather poorly when people mash buttons.
YES!!!
KUNG FU!!!
