I think I’m going to stick with arakune for the time being. I feel like figuring him out is going to be a slow and painful process that will pay off in the long run.
Who is ready for a morning blazblue session? I won’t be able to play when my girlfriend gets up until she leaves for school at 5. So lets do this.
I’ve moved over to playing Hakumen pretty much exclusively. He seems decent, moves slowly, doesn’t have a run, doesn’t have a normal heat meter, does ok damage. I get killed by faster pressure characters, damn jin, v-13, and noel. Need to figure out when to use his D button counter moves more effectively. Glad I got this game, whole lot of fun so far.
Everybody needs to get as many games as possible in with Corey before he realizes that this is the same game as GG and stops liking it.
I feel the same way about Rachel, but I’m using Tager and Hakumen until I get accustomed to the game mechanics. Tager came pretty easy, probably because I played Hugo in 3s.
Use his unblockable, it’s really funny online. Most people don’t know what to do.

lol we’ve already established it’s the new GG, well kind of. So far it looks like it improves a lot of problems I had with GG, which isn’t a bad game, it just got old.

Hey everyone. My name is Shane and I’m out of the Blacksburg/ Christiansburg area. I’ve had the opportunity to play with some of you over at Jason’s place the other week (Donnie, Justin, and Everett). It was cool playing with you guys and it has helped improve my game a tad bit.

Ok, I love Blazblue. I’m still calling it an easier GGXX. But in some ways, like getting up off the floor, it is more complex than GG. I’m still not set on my characters, but I think I have it down to 5. Rachel mainly, then Carl, Arakune, Ragna, and v-13. But it is early and there are other characters I’m interested in like Haku-men and Tager.
Man, Carl is friggin’ HARD.
Don’t play Hakumen, it’s like Gief in sf4 if gief actually required thought; everyone will just run away from you and resort to letting time run out if they have to =(
I feel the same way. It does seem easier than GGXX. The other big thing is you don’t get as many “get out of jail free cards”. So once I actually learn a combo it will be nice knowing that my setups can’t just be burst out of. And if they do decide to burst out I’m basically getting “overtime time pay” for that round. Which I think is a very fair trade.
As far as picking characters go everybody will use sol, ky, jill or v 13. So choose someone you can beat those characters with. Arakune does well against all of them except v13 so I need to find a backup…
