hey. its been awhile since i’ve been on but… is there anyone near roanoke va/the south west portion of virginia that wants to play some kof 2k2. im trying to learn it. and just learning combos, watching combo vids, and playing the computer isn’t really helping to advance my skill. but more to the point, im bored with playing by myself!
edit im also up for playing something else!!!
psiphi did i meet you when i was working at best buy because i think you gave me your number and then i fucking forgot to store it. because i think i was goign to play you that weekend.
I’m still new to the fighting game scene, what games are you guys playing besides kof 2k2? I’m guessing most people here plays gg, but do I need to get slash?.. if its out:confused:
But I’ll pretty much learn anything, preferebly 2d fighters on xbox (that narrows it down lol)… but I’ll try to get a ps2 soon.
well im just trying to learn it because i’ve never really got into the kof series before. but its kinda hard because the computer is cheap as shit. and i dont understand most of it at all, lol. but i play ggxx, and tekken 5. i never got into 3rd strike or mvc2.
Good question. Are people going to be around for the summer? I’ll be back in Roanoke because graduate school is expensive and I’m poor. And I’ll be up for games as always. Also I still have FBT’s watch I need to give it back to him at some point, but I haven’t seen him since winter break.
Hello everyone, I’ve been visiting these forums for a couple of months now and just recently started becoming serious about 3rd Strike and SSFT. I’m currently at Virginia Tech and my ambition is to start going to tournaments. I just recently ordered an arcade stick (still waiting for it to arrive) for my PS2 and will definitely be tuning up my game soon. I don’t know of any other competition around here without driving 1-4 hours, but if there’s anything going down around here, I’ll surely be up for it.
Cool, Who do you play? If you just started out, I can probably help you out with 3s. But we definitly should do some games, I’m probably free this weekend. Urien/ryu are my mains but I mess around with makoto, ken, akuma, and yang too if you want some variety.
Actually, I’ve been familiar with 3s since it came out, but I really got inspired to get more serious after seeing footage of Japan and West Coast ranbats and tourneys. My main character is Elena, but I’ve also got a solid Ken; I tend to mess around with others, notably Remy, Ibuki, and Alex.
I won’t be free this weekend, but yeah, it’d be awesome to get some games in later. I’d really like to get this stick I ordered cause I’m really trying to wean myself off of console gamepads.
Thats cool man, hopefully you beat me down lol. I also played 3s when it first came out, but I knew nothing about true tactics and mind games. I started playing serious about a year ago when it came out on xbl, with the help of Oo 3s Masta oO (silent shade) and a few others.
Going with the stick is a good choice, It may seem like a slow process learning, but it’s definitly worth it. I got my sfac stick (modded with happ parts) about 6 months ago, I haven’t touched a pad since then lol.
ghiblicat, nas and i play a lot now, so we could always use someone else. and pshphi i’ll be around this summer and so will nas since he lives in blacksburg. so you got us i guess.
if anyone has any other questions IM on aim at whoa debaser.
Not true! I’m still alive, only…slightly less active. I’ve kept up my og SFII skills, but not much else. What’s the game to play now? From the looks of this thread, I’d say 3s. I’ll be back in Roanoke within a month, and I just may need to get back in the fray.
John, thats good to hear. But damn, looks like we’ll actually have a scene here :). Va_king, ghiblicat, and I just had a long ass set today lol (gg’s). We mostly played 3s, but me and ghiblicat are trying to learn guilty gear as well… and who knows, I might even pick up tekken 5.
stfu. front the money and i’ll do it. speaking of, if you video google search guilty gear slash you can find character combo videos. but apparently the SRK blog community beat me to it…
