They coulda just backed the fuck away and said “Alright, brother, we’ll see what the cops say when they get here” instead of coming closer and talking shit to the guy and gone back to their house. These dudes came out into the street AFTER the guy. He wanted them to stay away from him, he wasn’t holding them hostage. Where did you get THAT shit?? They stayed around not because they were told to get down on the ground or anything, but because they wanted to stomp the shit out of someone who dared to voice a problem with them rocking the neighborhood and didn’t think he’d do anything to protect once they got in his face (like nerd picked on in school. They’ll talk shit from down the hallway, but then when the bully gets in their face, the victim just cowers. That’s what they were counting on). Here’s where you seem to be lost/confused: He shot them BECAUSE THEY ADVANCED ON HIM, not because they moved in general. They chose to menace him. He told them “get back/stay away from me, I’m in fear for my life.” Somebody says that, that shit means back the fuck up or I will shoot you. Common sense is rare in people like these hicks, especially once they get a few in them. They die trying to race trains across tracks every month. All they had to do was go back to their business, continue partying, flipped the guy off a few times to satisfy their egos, and everything would be cool till the cops came… but they were drunken idiots, and they were gonna step off their property to fuck with him despite the gun…cuz they were fuckin’ stupid.

Who said they were or had to? They have a right to be in the street too, except when Raul is out there because he owns the street or something. He should have put his gun away after he told them to back off. He already made it clear that he has a gun and wants to shoot someone, now put it away and continue making your fire safety video. If they had rushed him, then I would totally understand him shooting them because there is no reason to rush a guy for standing in the street making a video. When he has a gun out, then we have a problem. There isn’t anything indicating they tried to disarm him, but you can’t say they didn’t have a right to rush him because their lives were in danger.
Put the gun away and go home.

He really said they were going to escalate it when he is the one who pulled the gun first? From watching that video it seems like Rodriguez wanted to shoot someone. You would think dude would have went home after he felt threatened and when they said that they were going to retaliate with their own guns. Yet he stays there saying to the dispatcher that “I’m going to have to defend myself” and “I’m not going to lose to these people anymore”.
There is fault in both parties, Rodriguez should not have antagonized them and left it to the police to handle and Danaher party should not have drove to where he was or tried to disarm him.
Common sense should dictate that if you introduce a gun into a situation bad things will happen. Its one thing to have the gun on you for protection. Its another thing to off the break, draw it out and point at people thinking its gonna make the situation better. Even if you say both parties are at fault, what was the guarantee that even if those guys had walked off, that homeboy wouldn’t have shot them and feigned self defense?
