…BTW, there’s THIS tool for easily saving any youtube vid (or any flash based vid) to your HDD. That’s in Firefox at least (the browser you should be using anyway). And then of course VLC can play any of those files.

I’ve always liked the music from Sega Saturn Bomberman. Here’s a nice ten minutes of it:

so is there anyway to turn the music on vgmusic.com into mp3s? when I save them onto my desktop they turn into a different format.
stuff on vgmusic is midi.
I have converted a few of them to mp3. You have to have a program that records your stereo mix. Basically play the midi while recording. Save the file, which will probably be a wav. see how it sounds to you, if the volume is good, ect, use a wav > mp3 conversion program.
There is no easier way, just because you’re dealing with midi, which is a sequence played directly by your sound chip, as opposed to a wav/mp3. Infact they sound different with diferrent sound cards or even your cell phone.

obviously the bass is better when its mp3, since midi bass is always kinda meh.
Edit: you also cant do anything else when recording the midi, you will get any noise, such as click confirmations, warning, and anything else in your music.
The quality really depends on the quality of the source file (the FLV). But the conversion seems well enough. I’m satisfied with the results.
There’s an option to convert a file that you downloaded from Youtube. You have to locate the file that you want to convert to MP3. I make it easy on myself and save all FLVs to the desktop (you may have to view all file types in order to see the file you want to convert). Next time, I’ll take it a step further and save them to a separate directory.

Does anyone have the SFIII tribute album? It had a collection of really cool remixes of the themes and the final track was some cat rapping and it breaks out into a little drum n’ bass. I can’t find it for the life of me on my computer so if anyone has a link that would be fantastic.
The Adventures of Batman and Robin and Sonic 2 were the best Genesis soundtracks of all time.
