Probably too much PSX on this list, but this is what came to mind. Honourable mention goes to the Shadow Hearts 1 and 2 OSTs for doing something different. If I was going to put an 11 I would go with the KOF 2K2 UM OST. That one rocks!
Also the SaGa Frontier 2 OST is amazingly good if you want to check it out!

Whats some good covers, or remixes that people have done?
This Flying Battery is an example. Sounds epic but doesn’t screw with the original melody. Unlike that garbage from OCR.

so far on lists I’ve seen Megaman X come up a couple of times along with SOTN. I feel kinda bad missing out on that milestone game and probably should DL it off Live to experience it at least once.

I’m reping one of my favorite box sets. This baby contains every piece of OutRun music from 1986 all the way to 2005. Every single OutRun game is covered on 11 discs.
I liked the OCR ver., it felt like an AST remix of the original theme.

I am not going to make a list of my favorite VG OSTs (would take quite a while), but I will say DKC2’s OST would be VERY high on the list, if not number 1. Every time I hear that music I think to myself, “What was David Wise on?” There is not one track in that OST that I do not love. The man is brilliant for that set of music alone. And if you think otherwise and happened to say that to me in person, I’m sorry, but I would probably have to fight you. Even the Smash remixes (while very good) can’t match the greatness of the originals.
Anyway, I have be looking for quality (stereo) mp3s for Lee Kyung Won’s SF2 guitar music. No success. Anybody know if there are any available out there? I am sure most have heard this already, but here it is for those who haven’t:

I play a lot of RPGs, so in general I favor big, epic, or techno-ish soundtracks. I love FFX’s OST. Sudeki da Ne doesn’t really do it for me, but in general it’s terrific. “Seymour Battle” is awesome, it’s too bad myself and everyone I know who’s played X kills him in like 30 seconds.
Xenogears has an amazing soundtrack. I’d go so far as to say that is my favorite part of that game. Chrono Trigger, which was done by the same composer, is also legendary.
Also, I’m really liking the soundtrack to FF Tactics.
And, I’d be remiss to not point out the OST for Shadow of the Colossus. Hauntingly beautiful and highly moving music.
There was a PS1 RPG that had some nice pause/menu music. I had recorded it mass long ago, while a friend played it but dont have it anymore and forget what the game is.
It had a nice bass line.
i know, shitty description, but it’s all I have. Plus if a PAUSE screen was memorable it should easy if you remember PS1 RPG’s.
Does anyone know where I can find mp3s for the Game Boy version of Mario’s Picross? I haven’t been able to find any anywhere. Maybe the game just needs to be ripped.
