Video Game Music Thread Ver. Once More With FEELING!

Good to know you’re still ripping music. Your NES Metal Max rip was good! Is it possible to rip music from hacked games? The Mega Man hacks are in serious need of proper rips.

The Legend of Zelda 'Zelda Heineken’

this was pretty cool. This guy did the LOZ theme using a Heineken glass bottle in various ways. It’s not probably something you’d bump too but just the concept and the end result is undeniably cool.

Sorry to dissapoint, but I don’t have Punch Out Wii.
The game looks amazing though, and by the time I get it, the soundtrack will most likely be out. I’ll keep a lookout.

Sure, I’ll give it a shot, just a little heads up, troublesome tracks may not even loop but I can try the rest.
They will most likely be like last time, SoundFX and all.

Dope. I can PM you what you need.

I think I may have this romhack ripping down. Quick question, One or Two Loops
Here’s an example of a Two Loop (I like this Ganbare Goemon 2 song by the way).
NES.NSF (006-064).mp3

By two loops, I take it you mean, you hear the track play twice and it fades out? If so, two loops is good.

EDIT: Dang, dude, you’re good at ripping! Sound crystal clear! And yeah, that’s one of my fave tracks. I forget which one it’s from.

According to some sites, I’m not truly ripping them, but it’s good enough for me.
Some Sound FX were detected as songs or something, so they’re stretched for 3:32. Music works fine.
I’ve only had trouble with Rockman 5 - Wily’s Dream Space, The Songs are played 3:32.
I’ve included every output file, for reference purposes.
Critique, Suggestions, Error Reports are all welcome.

You are a HERO, man!

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 'Cross-Examination (Sudden Interjection)'

Source is ‘Ryuichi Naruhodo ~ Objection! 2001’. I don’t know if you guys will dig this track…but I loved what the guy did with this. Supposedly this style is called Trip Hop. I dig the beat that shows up throughout this track. The synth violins in the background that build up in the middle make it sound epic lol. I think I’ve had this track on loop for a good 20 minutes listening to it…and probably will be continuing to do so as I post the next track.

Final Fantasy VII 'The Shinra Shuffle’

Sources are ‘Fanfare’ and ‘Fight On!’. Like Jazz? Like FFVII? Then you’ll probably dig this. An ensemble group called The Runaway Five did this track and apparently they’ve been a part of Video Games Live!. They have their version of ‘The Decisive Battle’ playing on their website. Both of them are worth taking a listen too and are pretty good IMO.

With all this talk about Sound FX I was wondering if there was a website that just deals in SFX cause I wanna get some for use on my phone and shit.

I don’t think there’s a site specifically for Sound effects.
Most likely you may have to record them yourself, but I know how to record sounds.
I might be able to find them if you can provide a sample (maybe youtube) and if it’s MAME compatible game.

A Final Fantasy 7 Remastered - A resampling of the FF7 Midis from the PC Version with higher quality instruments. Some songs are nice.

Can someone one tell me what “loseless” and “flac” are? Those terms are being thrown around all the time at the Galbadia forums and I’ve no clue what they mean.

Also, here’s a hard to find KOF soundtrack for a game that was on the Neo-Geo Pocket Color. I’m listening to it right now. Pretty good stuff if you don’t mind your KOF music sounding 8-bit. I certainly don’t.

From what I can tell, It means encoding your music files into smaller file formats (Song.flac or Song.Ogg) with no reduction is quality.

I was interested too and did a little research

[details=Spoiler]A quick quote from this site says

More examples include lossless formats. FLAC

OGG Vorbis

[/details]

I would probably use this, but there are several lossless formats and it would take forever to re-encode all my mp3s.
Also mp3s seem compatible with more stuff and more widely used. (to me, at least)

MGF, you are an endless stream of knowledge. Thanks.

Yeah, I have no problem sticking to MP3s. I’m not about to start recoding all my crap just for better audio. Too much time.

I’m interested in the inFamous OST…if anyone happens to come across it let me know

While I’m still here, http://forums.ffshrine.org/showpost.php?p=1247442&postcount=10724 (Untested)

Oh, and Punch Out Wii (Game Rip) until a better one shows up.

good god you work fast…if I could rep you twice I would thanks.

Edit: dammit…can’t rep you right now lol stop beastin MGF

Edit:

I really like what Sucker Punch did with inFamous soundtrack to make it sound the way it does. I saw the doc on it and decided I had to listen to all the different stuff they banged and clanged on to make music with…‘Bangin on a trashcaaaaan…drumin on street liiiiiiiiiight’

man fuck your think big, it was always about

Phantasy Star Online fans may want to give this a listen

Phantasy Star Online 'Ragol Weather’

Source is Image of Hero. I think Zircon did an awesome job on this. I’d say this mix is right in the middle of sticking with the source and doing it’s own thing. This is definitely going into my playlist.
