Video Game Music Thread Ver. Once More With FEELING!

Still watching through this performance and their ‘Last Surprise’ wasn’t too bad. Instruments were excellent but I might be expecting too much out of the singer especially during the chorus

I don’t know everything Disco Cactus played but some it sounded pretty good especially whatever was playing before the last song. And that last track was awesome! Studiopolis act 1 and 2/Danger on the dancefloor! Glad Studiopolis is getting more love. Super Soul Bros did a version for their set too

^ with an assist from FamilyJules

^ This group was better than I expected. I never paid much attention to this group when I went but they have my attention now. Games include Castlevania, Secret of Mana, Super Metroid, Dragon Quest and a few others. There are a couple of tracks they do with lyrics just as a warning.

More Super Soul Bros. from Magfest weekend

Maaaaaan, I would love to go to Magfest. Looks so dope.

If you love games with the culture and music that surrounds it then you have to go at least once. Magfest has other events that you can experience if you can’t make it to the biggest one in National Harbor. This is the first year I couldn’t go and it cuts deep.

Just a heads up…looks like someone on Sittingonclouds got a hold of the FF7R demo because there’s a rip of the music from it on there…

Also looks like Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore got put up there as well.

Super Soul Bros. in the Lobby Bar at Magfest

These guys are so good. Covers include Hey Arnold, A DK set feat David Wise, Chemical Plant Zone, Raceway track from MK64, Megalovania and Yoshi’s Island. Not in this order.

‘Gormott’ from XC2 came up in my playlist while was grocery shopping and it really interesting how this track at times kinda tries to be Gaur Plains but while doing it’s own thing.

Guar Plains for comparison

Really wonder if they are going to remaster the OST for XBC for the remake…not that it really needs it at all but if I can get anything like what they did with this I’ll cream myself. I’ll never not enjoy listening to this track love everything about it especially the 3 beats of the drums followed by the pause and then the music kicking back up again.

Also updates on a few other things, Sitting on Clouds has been updating as usual for the past few months. Among things added are an Ace Attorney Orchestra CD, Granblue Fantasy Versus and a DKC gamerip.

Also OCR put out an album focusing on anime games

haven’t listened to any of it but kinda interested in hearing what they did with 2 tracks from Tenkaichi 2.

Edit: Misdirection was ok…was not feeling Earth’s Choir

Anyone remember that whereever there was a Double Dragon cab, a Shinobi cab was close if not right next to it:

Then in a JR voice; business is about to pick up when this track transitioned to:

Some Shinobi:

The following video includes the 4 stages that use the following theme:

Medley of all the themes!!!

EDIT: Just realized something (not really, just pointing it out) lol.

Before Mortal Kombat palette swapped ninjas…

Also the boss (Black Turtle terrorist organization) of Mission 2 had its own BGM whereas the other bosses had the same music as Ken-Oh.

The main character, Joe, fights with no mask (ironic, because he’s a ninja).

Nioh 2
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

OSTs for all of these are up on sittingonclouds.

I’m anxiously awaiting my limited edition OST from play-Asia but with how everything is going tits up and sideways all over the world who knows when I’ll get it.

Yeah, with dat rona effin’ everything up, I knew it was only a matter of time before stuff like import ordering suffered.

But hey, dat digital OST?

These tracks are always hard!

I like Super Soul Bros, and I’ve actually watched them play live at PAX South last year. That being said, the price for their most current album is a bit soul crushing. $25 for an Earthbound album? Sure, I love that series (and Mother in general), but not enough to spend $25 on a album dedicated to it.
