I don’t remember the old Spiderman show that well, please explain?

Sure! If you will take a listen to the beginning of the 60s/whatever year spiderman theme song here…

And listen to the quiet part in his theme at 1:50…

You’ll notice a similarity.

I heard it, but man is that a small window. That’s probably why I missed it.

Something ive been wanting to do for awhile using the Ricoh 2A03 but using voices from the arcade hardware.

Wanted to hit you guys up with another one of my favorite 8 bit pieces. I know earlier that I said that Capcom and Konami came the hardest when it comes to music on the NES. I also think that Sunsoft did a damn good job to, so check out some of the OST’s from there games as well. I give you, Journey to Silius Stage 2, just listen to the complexity of this shit. Not many games on the NES had a tune that last more than 30 seconds. Maybe memory had something to do with this. But everytime I hear an artisit go beyond that point to give you the goods, I like it. This is a great game IMO so check it out when you get a chance.

When I first started listening to this track I was like ‘This sounds like Batman’ I didn’t notice the ‘Sunsoft’ in the video until afterwards.

I can usually hear the capcom or konami in most games but sunsoft has a unique sound that I can never seem to pick up on just by hearing it. I think Rare’s games have pretty good OST’s to for the NES.

There’s a real dearth of Amiga tunes in this thread:

And some other random under appreciated tunes:

Hey, I posted Turrican II!

Time for more soundtracks.

Tim Follin was a very resourceful composer, given the soundchips he worked with and the sounds he got out of them. Examples: The famous Silver Surfer OST, this song (Amiga GnG):

Quake II (seriously how has this or Sonic Mayhem not been mentioned yet)

Zone 66

A lot of Hotline Miami’s tracks actually sound like Desert Heat

And hell, why not more Turrican series. It’s required listening for any VG OST connoisseur. Or it should be, anyway.

So I just got hip to Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold’s music. I had no idea the themes were arranged from what they were in SFA2. There’s an element of jazz to a lot of themes. Cammy’s theme from X-Men vs. Street Fighter has been rocked out hard.

Zangief SFA2 Gold
Rolento SFA2 Gold
Staff Roll 2
Staff Roll 3
Cammy SFA2 Gold

Get this stuff at Shadow’s site here: http://www.shadowhaxor.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=538

Without being able to see the link, I’m gonna guess Wolverine, or Silver Surfer music?

Also this guy made a bunch of NES OST’s in pseudo stereo. Original tracks, no remakes, just very nicely separated.

OMG that stage one theme is CRACK in stereo.

What people call “SFA2 Gold” music, is actually vanilla SFA2 PSX and Saturn arranges, which also happens to be on PSX/Sat SFA2 gold with SF Collection 1. The Arcade Alpha 2 Gold (SF Zero 2 Alpha) has the same music as vanilla CPS2 arcade.

OverClocked University’s performance at Magfest got posted for those who may be interested

Mega Man 3 ‘Mega Manhood 3: The Blasting of Hard Man’ by Danimal Cannon

Sources are ‘Dr.Wily Stage 1’ and ‘Dr.Wily Stage 2’. ‘Forgive me for what I have done…’ My brain immediately does that now upon hearing the first few riffs of Wily Stage 1 now. This is a relatively straightforward rocking ReMix of these 2 themes done by Mr. Cannon. Both sources are easily recognizable and seperated. He does get to adding a bit more of his own flair during the second half using the second source. This was part of a Dwelling of Duels competition apparently.

Sonic & Knuckles ‘Funky Side Up’ by metaphist

Source is ‘Death Egg Zone Act 1’. Wow…never thought I’d hear this source as funked up as this. That was quite some slap bass going on in this ReMix. Main parts of the source are recognizable quite easily even with the notes being heavily bassified and stuttered. Also really like the use of various sound effects from the game strung throughout the track…thought it was quite tastefully done probably a similiar way that halc does his stuff.

Mega Ran recently put this up on his youtube channel

I also have for the longest time wanted to dl Torzelan’s version of Juri’s theme and found out where he has all his mp3’s available for those interested:

This battle theme goes hard as hell, pun intended.
