Did anyone post this 18 minute long epic medley set to a music video in celebration of Mario’s 30th anniversary? I have a feeling someone did already.

Sword of Vermilion ‘Dungeoneering’ by Senescense

Source is ‘Dungeon’. Never played this game so I familiarized myself with the source. I like this source tune. And I dig what was done with it for the ReMix. Mostly pretty straight forward with the source easily recognizable. Rocking electric guitar with some nice drums.

Heavy Rain ‘From Mars’ by Brandon Strader

Sources are ‘The Bulldozer (Jayden’s Action Soundtrack)’ and ‘Ethan Mars Theme’. I didn’t find Heavy Rain’s OST to memorable but the source tracks themselves are powerful orchestra stuff. This track has powerful electric guitar and voilin that does a good job of keeping the emotion of the original source tracks while they’re being mixed. I’m not familiar with doom metal but this sounds pretty good to me.

Mega Man 2 ‘The Tragic Drowning of Heat Man’ by TheGuitarHeroe

Sources are ‘Heat Man Stage’ and ‘Bubble Man Stage’. This was a part of the Grand Robot Master Remix Battle for this year (which I still need to go through). I’ve never really listened much to Deadmau5 but he said that he was one of his influences for this track. I dig it either way. A nice driving beat with nice chiptuney synth to go along with it.

[LEFT]Glad I found this thread. I’m a really, really big VGM music fan. I actually started studying music composition because of it, and am hoping to one day compose for games. I also study a lot of VGM. In the past year or so, I’ve been making an effort to study individual composers by going through OSTs and studying songs I think are vital to the patent atmosphere of the game. I essentially try to “get into the mind” of the composers and deduce their decision-making when composing so I can build my repertoire.[/LEFT]

[LEFT]The past 3 months have been Hitoshi Sakimoto and Nobuo Uematsu; FFXII and FFVII respectively. I’ve studied most of the songs off of both OSTs, and it’s pretty inspiring to see the techniques and ideas they develop in their songs, and how differently they construct melodies, voice harmonies, etc. Recently I started with Koji Kondo and Michiru Yamane (Mario/Zelda and Castlevania). So, yeah, if anyone’s ever interested in knowing how a song works or why it sounds the way it does lol.[/LEFT]

Pretty low radar unless you’re a Level 5 fan, and in game its covered up with sandblowing desert wind effects too. But it loops so it feels better nonstop.
