Isnāt it funny how you find out about games through their music sometimes? Her are some examples of games I possibly wouldnāt have known existed until I heard a song from them in some form or another.

TvTropes.

I saw a boss fight video of that boss. I ended up buying the game cause of that boss.
Never thought to post these in here but someone encouraged me. Thereās a mixing community on Youtube that takes game soundtracks or game remixes and combine them with acapella of unrelated songs to fit in cool/funny/strange ways. Hereās some of my favorites. I was going to link the source tracks but then things started to get cramped⦠In these videos either the source is in the description or the video is posted as a response to the source so itās easy to find.

Hmm, this track isnāt really video game music, and at the same timeā¦it is. Weird.

Well, it is if youāve played Crazy Taxi.
I like this version of Sarahās track on VF5R, quite guitar-jazzy with a piano melody.

I wasnāt even aware of that Wolverine Adamantium Rage source until Rioting Soul brought that remix to my attention a week ago. The source track is pretty damn hot on itās own.

Interesting, some are always going to work better than others. Not to discourage anyone from doing it. Keep trying until they fit well, to just you or others agree too.

Wow, this thread has slowed a bit. Well letās try and liven it up a bit. Itās āGuess what Iām talking aboutā time.
Yeah, naked truth lies only if you realize
Appearing in nobodyās eyes till they sterilize
Stop the guerrilla warfare to keep it fair
Bro, change your rage to a smarter greater cause
You know the stake is high stardom is near
Those who sympathized you die killers pass by
Do not waste your time in hating flirting guys
Use your might to AIs do justice to them all
Now I face out
I hold out
I reach out to the truth of my life seeking to seize on the whole moment to now break away
Oh God let me out Can you let me out
Can you set me free from this dark inner world
Save me now Last beat in the soul.

Iām still trying to catch up on some things on OC but lemme dump some things Iāve dled that Iād like to point out. I hope Iām not reposting anything Iāve put up before since I had to recover some things on my comp.
Final Fantasy XI Online āParadisā by mv
Source is āHeavenās Towerā. Even without knowing the source tune at first, I immediately fell in love with this within the first couple of minutes. Itās pretty long at 8 minutes and is fairly straightforward with the source being quite easily recognizable throughout it. That being said this shit is quite chill and Iāve found myself nodding to it even as Iām typing this up. Love the way how it starts up with the ambience and slowly brings in everything elseā¦and definitely digging the beat. In fact the only thing about this track that I could say Iād even have a problem with personally is what he tried to do at 5:03 in that section but itās not even bad imo.
Mega man 3 āSerpentās Spiralā by Jakesnke17
Source is āSnake Man Stageā. Chiptuney sound with some drums added to the mix. Easily recognizable, straightforward, and quite well done.
Kirbyās Dream Land āGliding on a Silver Liningā by level 99
Sources are āBubbly Cloudsā, āInvincible Lollipopā, āGreen Greensā, and āStar Jingleā. Kirby with some acoustic flair. Quite a nice job mixing all of the sources together.
Final Fantasy VII āDuel of the Bladesā by Kevin Penkin
Sources are āOne Winged Angelā and āLiberati Fataliā. High in energy but still so soft in most areas, A nice orchestral mix of both of these famous themes without the lyrics. The anticipation to get to the āSEPHIROTH!ā section and never quite getting there I thought was an interesting choice. Donāt know how exactly a feel about it still even after listening to it several times but I like what he was trying to do with it.
Final Fantasy VII āMotherā by Moomba
Sources are āJ-E-N-O-V-Aā, āListen to the Cries of the Planetā, āMako Reactorā, and āChosen by the Planetā. Digging the acoustic and the strings on this orchestral arrangementā¦not really digging the glass breaking lol. When I first listened to I felt it distracted from the piece overall and felt out of place with everything elseā¦Iāve since uhā¦come to peace with it but even now as Iām listening to it I find myself being snapped out of zoning out to it by the glass lol.
Nier āAncient Dreamsā by DJ Mistix and Sabrina Velenzuela
Sources are āGerudo Valleyā and āSong of the Ancients/Devolaā. Warningā¦This ReMix has lyrics in it but it isnāt english. I still donāt know when Iām going to get around to playing this gameā¦and Gerudo Valley works so well for Latin sounding mixes. It kinds serves a filler between the lyrical sections and it doesnāt really sound out of place. Dig the use of the piano and the violin for when Gerudo was used as wellā¦especially the second time. I also liked Ms. Velenzuelaās voice for the lyricsā¦she sounds quite nice imo. Otherwise this mix has a nice beat in area and is pretty chill. Pretty awesome for the first mix of this game on the siteā¦Nierās soundtrack needs more love.
On a small sidenote I was having a hell of a time trying to hear Chun Liās theme in āMurkan Supremeā and it took me forever to realize that he pretty much only used the beginning of Chun Liās track on repeat on the instrument in the background for most of the track. (not sure what the name of that instrument isā¦I know itās Asian in nature though). I feel dumb lol.
