Video Game Music Thread Ver. Once More With FEELING!

Metroid Metal updated their websiteand their releasing a smaller EP of 6 tracks at 27 minutes. One of them they haven’t played live before. They have a with some of the tracks that will be on it. The source tracks that they’ve said they are covering are Brinstar (Super Metroid), Tourian/Mother Brain, Prime 3 Theme/Bryyo, Crateria, and Prime 1 theme. It’ll get released 9/4 during PAX (which is where the the unplayed live track will be played). Can’t wait to hear Prime 3/Bryyo in it’s entirety.

Also noticed Nekofrog updated his dxYCYkwzHOE&feature=sub"]youtube account with a track. He did a WIP of a metal version of from FFVIII. I wanna hear the finished version when it’s done.

Love this track!

…Anyone got the Saturn Bomber sound track?:crybaby:

I wish I had the full soundtrack. The actual game disc has some audio tracks used in the game, though. I forget how comprehensive the tracks were. I know it didn’t include my favorite song, which was the options menu song. I remember recording that song onto a cassette tape back in the day, lol.

I would actually put the game cd into the cd player and get all my favorite tracks. Ah such a great game, and soundtrack.

There was a PSX RPG with a really catchy theme for pausing/menu. It had alot of bass. The beat sounded like the Kanye West Billie Jean beat:

I kinda want to say Xenogears, but the uploaders on Youtube decided to name them the actual names, and thats too many fucking tracks, plus it might not even be that game. Anyone know?

I know I’m late, but I do appreciate the link. I need to join the site before I can download? That site is asking me for an invite. Can you hook me up?

I still highly suggest you just sign up to the site since it has other great stuff on their you can find plus you get all the tracks in one download. If you’re looking for individual tracks then you could probably try this. Or maybe here since they have a torrent download here as well.

I still say Brawl’s soundtrack is broken and should be banned from any top game music soundtrack lists.

i’m saying that when I try to register it’s asking me for an invite.

an invite? Don’t remember having to go through that…I have to go to work in a few minutes so I don’t think I’m going to be able to figure it out before then. Maybe ShadowHaxor will happen to show up like he sometimes does and help you out before I get back.

I’ll hook you up with an invite but, it’s asking me for your e-mail though. You can PM me if you wanna do it privately.

I really appreciate all your help here. I don’t want to come off as being annoying or asking for too much, but I was wondering if anyone knows if any music creating software. I was thinking about the option of becoming a music composer for video games and I would like to try something out. Any recommendations for a beginner?

I’m assuming Sonny got you covered in the invite. I just now figured out where the invite thing was so i’ll be able to help the next person who asks for an invite. As for music creating software if you wanna be ‘serious business’ about it I’d reccomend trying out Pro Tools but it’s pretty expensive. If you want something free that you can start on but isn’t as good then try Audacity. Zircon also released this thing call Shreddage for rock and metal guitar but it does cost money and I don’t know how good it is (good example of how good it can sound is actually ) but hey you get the power of Sixto’s guitar on your comp.

Alright, someone PLEASE help me out. For the last 10 some years I’ve been looking for the soundtrack to mortal kombat mythologies Subzero. I have looked everywhere and all I can find are dead links. Can anyone help the col out and point me in the direction of getting this godlike soundtrack?

I’m trying to help you out right now as I speak and getting side tracked by musical memories of previous Mortal Kombat games. Even though Street Fighter had more memorable theme music for it’s characters Dan Forden did a DAMN good job with the feeling of MK on the audio side. I almost feel he should be getting a bit more credit than what he’s been given so far and I’m hoping that he’s the one working on the soundtrack for the current MK. Some of his best work imo came from MK II - IV.

fuckin took me forever but I managed to track down a way for you to dl it.

Doh…

Hit me up with a user/password and an email addy and I’ll get you straightened out. Sorry about that, but the site has been under fire from spambots, so I just set it up for invites only.

Stupid bots… Hax smash bots!!!

Man if I had some extra money I’d wire it to you. You have no idea how long I’ve been looking for this.

You have my eternal thanks.

Found a new game soundtrack page when I wasn’t even looking! I’m adding it to the first post:

Geez, I haven’t checked up in this thread in forever.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I feel like an immense idiot for not realizing that was by The Megas until now. This reminds me…
