verdict on OCremixās DKC 2 album? very very positive. I have quite a few standouts IMO which Iāll post up later. This album made me want to go back and play the damn game which I think is a good sign that it was done quite wellā¦ There are a few tracks that I believe had down points.
I was ready to hate a bit on Nekofrogās āMonkeyās Disarm Their Kremlingsā Death metal ocremix (the one with the lyrics) but actually tried to listen to what the guy was saying and ended up laughing. I was tripping off of āYUM YUM YUM POTASSIUM!ā the enitre time while I was at work. Thereās a non lyrical version on the album as well though. The fact that they got David Wise, the guy who actually did the music for DKC2, to actually ReMix a track is fucking crazy. It makes me wonder if itād be possible for more occurences like this to happen in future album releases. Give album a full listen to at least once if you havenāt done so already and enjoyed the game at all.

Ecco: The Tides of Time ''Waves of Stoneā
Source is [media=youtube]ECxQnlPa5UY"[/media]. This ReMix sort of threw me on a goose chase for a moment when I was trying to look for the source track that they had listed (Vents of Medusa). My ears werenāt picking up the source at all and I thought was crazy but eventually I found the real one. I hadnāt even played Ecco either to be honest (I saw a bit of a playthrough of it out of curiosityā¦what in the hell? lol). In any case OA helped out with this and itās pretty rockin. If you like Ecco then you might dig this.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 'Atmosphereā
Source is [media=youtube]0FCHk_gSwKo"[/media]. Chip tuney and very uhhhā¦happy. Has a constant driving beat through most of the track and is pretty straight forward with the source. I like the small touches with the ring sound effects placed in the proper areas.
Star Fox Adventures 'Fossilās Oasisā

I can barely remember the music from this gameā¦but I thought Rare did a pretty good job on the game overall. LuIza had a hand in this track so prepare for some nice guitar work. This has some heavy and some light moments in it but itās all :rock: :rock: This track was also won 3rd in Dwelling of Duels for[URL=āhttp://dod.vgmix.com/past/2009-09-september/ā[/media]
Damn I didnāt know this was out! Thanks for the heads up! David Wise is a god tier composer, at least as good as the great Japanese RPG composers (Uematsu, Mitsuda, Sakimoto, Hamazu, etc.) I wish he got more work!

Castlevania series have too much music, and not all of them are great, but some like iron blue intention(potrait of ruin) and last painting(SOTN) are awesome.
I would recomend super metroid, megaman 2, seiken densetsu 2, ffIV and ffVI ost, but i think the majority of people alredy have at least the first 2, lol

Source is [media=youtube]ZFoglP24zlE"[/media]. I couldnāt decide on whether I really liked this ReMix or not but after listening it through my speakers I decided I did. Has a good amount of bass in it too and itās pretty soft.
I think the best track in OCRemixās DKC2 album is [media=youtube]ghFRE7lSV3A"[/media]. This track sounds hot as hell to me even without knowing the source tune.
