Snatcher/Policenauts
When one hears the name Hideo Kojima, the series that comes to mind is more than likely Metal Gear, but thereās another series that is equally worth of fawning over. Released in 1988 on the Japanese Pc-8801 computer, Snatcher was a heavily story based graphic adventure game that took the basic concept of the age old ābody snatcherā plot and turned it on itās head. The game featured a cyberpunk setting, solid voice acting, and an engaging musical score.
The game didnāt hit the states until 1994 when it saw release on Segaās ill-fated Sega CD platform. Like most games released in America, the Sega CD version had some censorship, but the storyline was still on a mature level and the voice acting was still topnotch.
Another of of Kojimaās lesser known gems is Policenauts, another graphic adventure game. While the game was released on the Saturn and PlayStation in the 90s with plans to bring the Saturn version to America, the game was eventually canceled. However, a fan translation of the PlayStation version saw release in late 2009. Like Snatcher, Policenauts has a very memorable score.
There were only two games in the Snatcher series, Snatcher and SD Snatcher a remake of Snatcher, while Policenauts was a single game. Despite this, both have a nice selection of albums, and a multiple arranged soundtracks. There were a few MIDI albums, but they more than hold their own as full blown arranged soundtracks.

The Zone of the Enders music pretty awesome too, The small portion of Beyond the Bounds from this [media=youtube]33r9_stmOiU"[/media] got me hype several years ago.
Iāve been listening to FFXIIIās sound track that I dled off of ShadowHaxorās website and Iām liking a good chunk of the music. I mostly dled it because I liked the battle theme [media=youtube]xk6e8al-mHQ"]āBlinded By Lightā from the previews and now that I can actually listen to it in higher quality I like it even more. Love the violins and the small background guitar. Realized that the same guy, Masashi Hamauzu, did the sound track for Dirge of Cerberus and this guy also recently just left Squeenix. Saying Dirge wasnāt the best game ever would be a pretty big understatement but I think Hamauzu did a pretty good job music wise on the game. It had at least 3 standout tracks from him IMO: Counteroffensive, Return to the Subject, and[. The only problem that I think he has is that heās ānot Uematsuā which I think is going to be a small issue for anyone who tries to do Final Fantasy music after Nobuo. Maybe they should get Yoko Shimomura to score the next game in the series? I donāt think Iād mind hearing whatād she could do.

Masashi Hamauzuās been one of my favourite Squenix composers ever since I heard his music in SaGa Frontier 2. They couldnāt have chosen a better person to replace Uematsu for a FF soundtrack.

I havenāt played any of the SaGa games unfortunately but from what Iāve heard of his work I think heās a bit underrated but like I said I think it has to do with the fact that heās ānot Uematsuā. It sucks that he left Squeenix so I wonder what heās going to do next.

Iām enjoying a small, but challenging victory. I was finally able to Rip the music from Bleach Blade Battlers 2nd with decent quality.
The songs are slightly generic and donāt keep your attention, but after playing against my friend so much, some of them grew on me.
