My view of what is a Doom clone is greatly affected by the times all theses FPS games came out after Doom. As that is what everyone (game journalists and gamers) at the time pretty much said regardless of it was true or not. Hexen support is even packaged in many modern ports of the Doom engine, so that is where my viewpoint comes from.

Hexen is absolutely nothing like Doom, holy shit. Heretic is more inline with Doom though but even then it has enough differences.
That’s literally because the term First Person Shooter didn’t exist yet. Duke 3D was considered a doom clone, fuck I bet even Quake was since that was out the same year.

Man I’m hyped for Warhammer Darktide. My bro gifted me Vermintide 2 a few years back for my bday, but I was on the MHW crack so didn’t play it too much. Been playing Vermintide 2 a lot during this pandemic and it’s a lot of fun. Still good amount of people playing.
Yea and I get it, it’s just not true. It wasn’t then either. They said DOOM Clone because the FPS genre hadn’t been truly codified yet. It has been at this point and most games called DOOM Clones are not like DOOM.

How can you criticize me for my comments about the stream when you have not watch the same stream yourself. Your Fan boy is showing, and it just a fucking sad presentation.
I even watched the stream with commentary to get any more indepth perspective.
There mostly just cut scenes, very little game play and that is with a less than next gen looking Halo.
My one positive is its better than every MS E3 showing in years. I did admit that Halo Infinite game play has a smooth frame rate, which I rather have over sparkly graphics.

Also on the subject of Halo and Marathon, i thought for the longest time Bungie was gonna connect Halo to Marathon as Halo being a prequel but outside of reference and some shared concepts like Rampancy, they arent related sadly.

And there are some Halo Easter eggs, too. Like one of the towers on Mars during the Rockets McDickface strike looks like Master Chief’s helmet.

My comments weren’t about the stream itself…? They were about you. What does me watching the stream have to do with any of the criticism I just laid upon you. My point is your dick gets hard with any oppurtunity you get to talk shit about MS or their properties.
I literally even just said the show probably sucked. I’m just happy with a lot of the titles they’ve announced. I really wish you could take your fingers out your fucking ears for once and have an actual nuanced opinion on this particular subject, I know you’re capable of it.

I watch the thing, and I felt it sucked. The thing was lack luster.
If anything I rather just upgrade my PC over getting a Xbox Sex after this presentation.
