if you want my opinion i really don’t like it. I hate games where the narrative keeps on driving you at all times. This is what i feel GOT feels like
Sekiro was fucking awesome and lets you wander off to do a bunch of shit at your leasure, really dont know what you are on about with Sekiro. It plot hardly drives you at all the point people don’t know where to go and get lost because the plot doesn’t tell you.mich of anything about what to do next. Lots of people go “um what now?” After the second Genichiro fight and that’s only half way throigh the game arguably.
The problem with FFXIII isn’t really that it’s linear. It’s that it’s linear and fucking boring at the same time. They give you tools then take them away, spend tons of time on exposition you need to dig into the in game encyclopedia to understand, and the combat never gets to the point it actually takes real advantage of the mechanics it presents you. It’s a shallow game.
Everything I hear about Ghosts is that it’s open world which means it could have driving plot but you can probably ignore it at just about any time. I haven’t watched anything on it tho so I could be wrong.

So many games for me left to play in this gen. This September marks 5 years I’ve had the PS4 but I feel like I have enough unplayed games to last at least 2 years
Anyhoo, my top games for PS4/current gen:
Yakuza 0 - a great introduction to the franchise. Great story ,fun gameplay ,so much stuff to do,good graphics.
I bought this for full price at launch unlike my usual cheapo way of waiting for black Friday 1-2 years later.

Tekken 7
Spiderman PS4 - after the disappointing Arkham Knight, I felt like superhero games were lacking. Thankfully this restored my faith.
Even just websligning and wall running is so fun!
Doom 2016- I’m not a big fps guy mostly bc I always get rekt in mp. But the campaign was so badass and even though some parts were tough it kept me playing
Music was excellent and the heart pumping pace is a nice change from hiding and recharging your shield gameplay.
Transformers Devastation - Bayoneesa gameplay with G1 TF aesthetic. Short but a damn good time!

I agree, lets base the game play of the first 5 minutes of game play though the tutorial dungeon to base the game play of a huge open world game that don’t care if you ignore the main plot interly.

Favorites of this gen… of course it should be no surprise coming from me—Dead Cells is one of the first things that came to mind, but also…
Vampyr, Doom & Doom Eternal, Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, DMC5, Dragonball FighterZ, Cuphead, Smash Ultimate, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Monster Hunter World, Transformers Devastation, Witcher 3, Warframe, Streets of Rage 4, Remnant, and Fight N Rage.
(*note—no mention of my most played game ever Diablo 3 since it happens to be a “last gen” game, actually)
Perhaps a slightly controversial picks: Gears 4 and yes…even Gears 5. Despite the several flaws and instances of questionable design choices, I still had plenty of memorable good times in those.
