I haven’t seen Top Gun (probably need to put that on the list of movies I need to see at least once) but I can appreciate the cheesy awesome of this. Definitely did not know AVGN played guitar.

The development history behind Demons Souls is some epic ass shit. Real.mythology sounding nonsense and yet it’s all true. Still can’t believe the guy went from “I’ve never made a game before but I’ll try this failing one” to fucking CEO in like less then 10 years.

Check if they need you to be running. The game has momentum from running, so something you need to use that for the chains. At the same time, some of the timing for the combos can be old-school tight.

Yep, strings have less pushback on block and hit when you start them off of a run. The game has a chain combo system and there are some tigher combos but they are not SFIV one-frame link tight, it’s more like 3S/CVS2 in that you have a larger window to land the bigger combos.
Combos are kind of universal, in that 90% of the cast can do run --> CR. LK, CR. MK, CR. HP into whatever special/super. Light into medium into heavy is the basic stuff that you use to get a feel for the combo system. Once you do, you can combo together some funky stuff into specials --> super. You can dash up and do CR. MP, CR. LP, CR. MP, CR. MK into special for example. If you dash after a jump-in button, you get an extended string/combo as well, because like I said before there is less pushback on hit and block when you start a string off of a run, and you want to be starting most of your strings off of a run.
I matched up with a Japanese player yesterday(dude got rekt) some player from the Domicano(dude got rekt) and a dude who I’ve been running into on PS4 AND PC. Eddy_Bam, dude is in the FEXL Discord and I’d say overall he took more wins from the sets we ran. I hate Darun now, dude has a “setplay” like D. Dark after a knockdown from a super and it basically turns the game into Mahvel. Guess right or die, or guess right and still be in a shitty situation.

I started playing Wonderboy: The Dragon’s Trap and it’s awesome. It’s a “remake” of the Master System game and it’s…crazy how well it holds up after all of this time.
If you tap R2 you can swap between the retro and modern graphics. It’s insane to see the difference in graphics in real-time. I dunno, I just feel the need to swap between the graphics between each new area, haha.
Issa cool game and is easy to recommend if you like Metroidvania style titles like Shantae and Bloodstained.

James has always been a metalhead and numerous times you could spot either his CD/album collection in the background or he himself mentioned that he plays his favourites while editing since the process takes a long time. I’m not surprised at all he’s also a guitar player

Diablo seasonal adventures— my Demon Hunter hit level 70 a while ago; already paragon level 80-something at this point… the power of the Shadow set bonus is just silly— on the 6 piece you’re talking about 75,000% bonus damage on the Impale skill, man. My build is nowhere near fully optimized; only 230k something sheet dps… not all items were legendary… and this character was already crit hitting some monsters for damage well into the billions. (since then I finally got better stuff so sheet dps is up to 3 or 400-something now…still a long way to go, obviously) Even this gimped the DH is already ridiculous…I don’t even have fully upgraded gems or all my kannai cube poweres set up but he’s already a killer. It’s been years since I’ve played a demon hunter but it’s all coming back to me how incredible the Shadow set is; this is such a good time here.
Darun’s solid mid with most of the cast. The top tier is still Terry, Sharon, then Shirase/Hokuto.

Sure, in Gekis opinion. 18GO posted his tier list and it looked a bit different.
If you get SPD’d or super SPD’d against Darun you can lose the match right there. You also cannot reliably build up the alpha counter gougi against Darun because he’s a grappler and it limits your already limited options against him when he puts you on your ass.
I used to think people in the FEXL Discors were idiots when they said Darun was top tier but I understand now, haha.
Oh yeah, he can flex on any projectiles including supers. I’d wakeup super with Geist and Eddy would flex on it(parry) into a full punish.
He can super into SPD super. I’d be holding up or up back and I’d still get grabbed. He can also cancel his super into his AA bridge super, so he can mix that up between his SPD super. It’s a nightmare defending against that character.
