Video Game General v8.01D : PC Gaming Golden Age, Big Box (Part 1)

Debbie downer Saitsu.

It’s just facts man. I don’t want to be right. I’d love to be back in the Golden Age of Forums where you could get information at the click of a button and have a plethora of people to discuss basically any topic.

That’s just not a thing anymore sadly.

If games are legit going to be $70 moving into the next generation that I may actually hold out and wait for a price drop unless it’s specific titles that I GOTTA PLAY DAY JUAN. I like supporting games I like but now they’re asking me to spend close to 80 plus tax on every game and I honestly don’t think I’m going to be able to do that. I get they gotta live but so do I lol.

Definitely can’t afford to take chances on a game being shitty at $69 a pop. I’m not buyin shit unless I’m sure it’s a hit.

On the other hand, I hope everybody doesnt think like me which may lead to developers being scared to take risks with new IPs

Thats what I am saying.

Even games I though were Day JUAN games turn out to be duds half the time, so I just going to wait it out. If it’s a must have, I can wait for a few days to a week, otherwise I waiting 6 months to a year.
Or when it hits a steam sale and I get the game for 70% off.

Meh. I hope everyone does the same thing and sales start to take a hit.

What will help the game industry is instead of rising pricing is to stop having CEOs take the lion share of the profits. But that’s every cooperation.

Simply not going to preorder a game come next gen…too many flops in the past.

I’m already paying 79.99+tax. 89.99 next-gen potentially? Shiiiieet…I’ll have to abuse the trade 3 get it free if I don’t want to go into debt attempting to Day Juan titles I want.

IF games get a price increase next-gen, they could get people to buy into digital copies more if digital releases don’t get the 10 dollar price bump. Then again, digital games are full priced now, so I doubt it.

Sheeeit, Ive only paid $60 for Tekken 7 and Yakuza 0.
I’m definitely the cheapest mofo on here lol.

I am glad that games seem to come down in price relatively quickly compared to blurays(especially Disney blurays).

I only paid full price for a couple 'o titles when I think about it. Outside of a couple of CE’s, I paid full price for Nioh 1 & 2(worth it, played both for a 100+ hours a piece) Tekken 7, DOOM 2016/Eternal, Wolfenstein II and only a few others more. Usually I’m paying like 10-40ish max.

The thing is MOST AAA games drop in price quickly shortly after release. DOOM Eternal is already half off, and it’s only a few months old. Nioh 2 as well, it’s not old and has had a ton of price drops.

Outside of Nintendo titles and niche/limited print stuff that you should grab early anyway, you’re looking to pay like 20-40 if you can wait a few months in my experience.

You come to learn the gaemz but you stay because you like the community. The last time this happened and the forums were thought to go down it fractured the community and we lost a lot of cool members. If the forums get GGPO’d it’ll be the same thing, everyone will spread out to their various Discords/wherever or just leave entirely.

I dunno, outside of GasaWhiny and a few others I like most of you guys. So if it comes to it and Michael Jackson This is It, then it was mostly good times talking vidjae gaemz with you jabronis.

we can all migrate and stay together but i guess many don’t like to do that for some reason, we all know we have a spare we can rely on.

I gave up on DKTF on the boss of the water world. I just can’t take the controls of underwater DK. I think it was world 4 but don’t remember exactly.

I generally wait till stuff goes on sale to buy it. I keep a bunch of things in my wish list and check from time to time. So I feel you. If game prices go up, well, I don’t buy that many games these days anyway, so I’ll just get more mileage out of what I have already and camp out till sales happen.
