High Stakes was the one that made me bail off from the NFS series for a good chunk of time, lol.
Hated how it forced you to go with the buy a car, and if you lose the car and didnt have enough money you had to restart the game from 0.

$$$$$$$$$$ has turned gaming into Hollywood with their decisions. How many remakes and re-releases did we get this gen? All of the big companies are happy to just re-release or “remake” their games over and over. How many Nintendo titles on the Switch are actually original games outside of a select few? An overwhelming majority are Wii U ports or re-releases/remakes.
Creativity doesn’t really exist anymore in the AAA space, and when it comes to indies they don’t have the production values to hit you like a proper AAA would, so you have to sift through 99% dogshit throwaway indie titles to occasionally find a gem. No one would have given a shit about Cuphead if the artstyle wasn’t what it was, if it looked your average indie it would have never taken off. It also plays like babies first Contra game.
